I have a Huawei GT Runner watch (which is great by the way) it syncs to Strava but Strava seems to end up showing a different (usually very slightly shorter) distance, which then throws the pace stats etc.. Why is this? Does Strava recalculate the GPS stats? Thanks

Hello @Mardlinboy
Thanks for posting about this.
It's common to see small discrepancies between your device distance and what you see on your Strava activity page. These are due to number crunching on both ends - Strava processes and analyzes the data in the file independently.
For more details on this process please refer to this article.

Hello
I know this is an old thread, but I have the same problem, only the discrepancy is much bigger. This morning, I went for a run that showed as 7.09km on Huawei Health (synced from my Huawei GT2 Pro watch), but when it synced to Starva it showed as 5.65km.
I ran with my phone as well, with the watch connected to the phone by Bluetooth. I think the watch is using the GPS from the phone (i.e. I don't think the watch has built in GPS) but not 100%.
I use a third party app called "Health Sync" to sync data between Huawei Health and Strava.
Any help greatly appreciated!
Rob
