Wahoo Ave speed & Strava Ave Speed

BruJuve10
Mt. Kenya

My Wahoo elemnt bolt reads 18.3 Ave speed and Strava 18.2 Ave. This happens quite often on many of my rides at the moment. Why is this?

Hi !

Thanks for writing in and sorry about the discrepancies between your activities as shown on another platform and Strava. Wahoo and Strava calculate average speed two different ways. Wahoo uses the speed sensor data for your average speed while Strava uses GPS data along with some other calculations. The 'lower' average speed you see on your ride is because that speed is being taken from the total/elapsed time you were out on your ride, not just the moving time. So, if you were stopped or paused for awhile, that is taken into account as well. You can find additional info here.
