Awesome that you can manually record a bike ride and add tenths of a mile, but why can I not add elevation gain to the manual upload?? Great for when I have the data, but an error occurs in my wahoo app and I need to manually upload. Can this feature please be added!

Hey there, thanks for submitting this suggestion. The functionality to manually enter elevation data already exists within Strava. To find it, login to the website and create a manual activity by clicking on the upper right + symbol and hovering to "Add Manual Entry". Thank you for your contribution and effort to help our online forums to continue to grow.

Ahhh sick. I never use the computer usually for strava. Ok then, could that tiny little section be added to the mobile application? That would be way more beneficial and more simple to complete, as I had no idea it could have been done on the computer. Thanks for letting me know that though.

You're welcome! I can go ahead and modify your idea and specify to add the functionality to the mobile app. Please let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.

Your idea to add elevation in a manual activity on the mobile app has been reviewed by our moderation team and is now open to voting.

I’ve noticed that when you upload a manual activity to Strava, elevation is not an input option. This feature should be added below time and distance as elevation gained during a workout can change the intensity of it greatly. I Just thought that this was something that needed to be added and I hope everyone is having a great day!

@Maxthompson - If you use the web browser version of Strava, you do have the option to input elevation gain.  For some reason, Strava has not made that available on the mobile app, but at least there is a way to do it by using the web browser.

@anchskier That’s true; however, it doesn’t count towards your overall fitness level and is essentially just cosmetic

@Soren is there a way to edit the elevation gain manually if I forgot to input after saving the manual activity? or do I have to delete it and restart the entire entry?

Hi @Soren ! Any news about the update on the App. I agree, that would be awesome to have this tiny update? Reason: Rouvy workouts do not sync altitude gains with Strava. If want to keep track on my altitude meters I need to add them manually. The easiest would be with the mobile app.

Agreed, that the best would be full altitude sync with Rouvy in the first place 😏

Cheers, Stephan

I agree that the option to input vertical gain when creating a manual activity in the app (not just in the browser version) would be very useful for a lot of people, myself included.

Also, I don't understand why the gain from manual activities shows as zero in certain places. For example, it is not included with the year-to-date total or all-time total under the "My Stats" section of my profile. It also shows as zero in the "My Activities" section, but does display accurately in the "Training Log" section. I understand the competitive nature between Strava users and why the designers wouldn't want to count manual activities toward anything competitive or for awarding the digital badges, but it would be a big help in keeping track of my own stats for non-competitive purposes if manual vert was included is these places. @Soren Any insight to this? Thank you!

I too would love to be able to add elevation to manual workouts.  I found that I couldn’t even edit and add elevation on the web to my previously created manual virtual rides where I had created them in the app.

I couldn’t agree more, having the ability to add elevation from the app and it count in my areas (ytd totals etc) is the only thing really missing from the app CX, when will strava review this ?
