I know that Strava doesn't want to support motorsports, but people want to track their dirt bike rides, and so they are using E-bike activities to do that. Where I live there are a lot of mixed use trails, so people on their dirt bikes are messing up the segments for actual E-bike activities. Just add an activity for motorcycles, easy solution. I don't currently ride a dirt bike, but if I did, I would want to track it too.

Hi @ian1386

Thanks for pointing out that votes can't be added to this idea. We're currently looking into this, and I'll provide an update as soon as I can.

I just got my first dirt bike and ran into the same problem. I use Strava to track my rides and stats, but I’ve had to use the e-bike "hack" to upload my motocross rides.

This seems like a silly issue to have. Please add a Moto category!

I’m already looking into other apps that can track stats for all my activities, and I’ll gladly switch to one that does.

Hey @Bryant

What's the reasoning why strava doesn't want to promote motorsports? As a paying strava customer who embraced the app as a cyclist, I'd love to hear why strava chooses to hate on motorsports. All the responses I've seen just boast hatred and bias towards the sport.

Your soon ex-paying customer,

Jeff

I've been told that Strava has a "Green Social Agenda".  Meaning that they are not totally just about mental health through physical health, but also about pushing a green social agenda above all else.  So even though we are getting outside and getting physical exercise, the type of exercise that you get must fit into their ideals.

I really want to believe that this is not true but no one from Strava has stated otherwise, or even posted a real reason as to why they refuse to act on this one request.  Certainly, every new idea request has to be presented and voted on within Strava, I for one would like to know what negatives were presented when this idea was brought forth.

Strava, what say you??
