Add the ability to sort and filter activity segment lists

I would like to add two optional rulers on the segment list in a ride details view. Left or right from the segments a time or distance ruler appears when you toggle between the icons on top of the list.

This allows you to easier find back segments in extensive lists on long rides. When you remember how late, or how far you were in the ride, you can scroll to that point and find the segment.

It’s not entirely clear from your post what you’re suggesting. Do you mind elaborating and including more details on the topic? Are you suggesting a way to the segment list on an activity by time and/or distance? Are you envisioning this on Web, Mobile App, or both? If you can provide additional clarification, that will be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for your reply, i tried to capture the idea in two prototype screenshots below. The time or distance is based on the start of the segment where it’s shown. This makes it way easier to find the right point in time or distance in a long segment list. 
The toggle button allows you to shift between time or distance.

When using the web app and looking at the segments for an activity I tend to drown in random public segments.

I would like to auto-hide (via a setting) or have a one-click filter to toggle between showing Only Starred, Only my Own, or All Non-hidden segments.

Background:

I ride the same route a lot. It's a long bicycle route and I have about 15 segments of my own that are starred and that I use to track how I do. Since it's a heavily used trail, when I view an activity, my own segments get drowned out in the sea of random segments that others have created and made public. I literally see 40+ segments that I don't care about. I can hide them 1 by 1, but that's tedious and on my next activity in the same place it's the same again.

What is described by Nijkster above is very different from my original idea so merging them dilutes my idea somewhat. The title re: sort and filter segments in the segment list of an activity however is correct for my request.

Here's my idea in a story format:

As a Strava user who would like to improve my own PRs on commonly ridden segments, and who doesn't much care about the many (random, ill-named) public segments that exist on the same route, I would like to be able to, with a single click, filter the displayed segments to "Only My Own Segments", "Only Starred Segments" or "All (non-hidden) Segments" so that I can easily focus on the few (~10) segments I care about and not have it visually clogged by many (>50) public segments that I don't care about. While I can hide those segments, that requires one click for each segment and when new public segments are added, I have to continually hide them too.

More info: Strava already supports Starred segments. Most apps that have the concept of Starring or Favorites also have a filter that restricts to showing just those. This is what I'm asking for here as otherwise Starring doesn't actually give much benefit.
