I think it would be great if Strava adds a challenge that celebrates an athlete's Birthday with a Cake Trophy.

What is it?

Birthday miles are a way to celebrate another year of growth. An athlete who has enabled the feature can have a little cake trophy that pops up once they post their workout on their birthday and a message from Strava that says "[Athlete], Happy Birthday and best wishes on another year of fitness!"

Why is it important?

We use Strava more than Facebook and need to remember birthdays and might not know it is our friend's birthday. This feature will automatically share the athlete's birthday on their post and make it stand out for athletes who enable it.

How does it work?

The athlete has to share their birthday with Strava, then they can sign up for the birthday challenge and complete any workout to receive the birthday trophy.

I think this is a fun one, so it will help people stay motivated for fitness! In the future, it will be cool if athletes get special perks on their birthday (free coffee, discounts on shoes, gear, etc.)

Thanks for submitting your idea to display a birthday cake if an activity falls on a member's birthday. I'm curious how you envision the challenge to be structured? Are you thinking it would be a monthly birthday challenge (e.g. June Birthday Challenge) -- what requirements would be in place for an activity to qualify, etc?

Hi Soren, I think the birthday challenge should only be accessible for 24 hours on the actual birthday of the athlete.

The athlete needs to login to Strava and record an activity on their birthday to get the trophy. It can be any form of activity on Strava. The minimum requirement can be 15-30 minutes of activity.
