It would be helpful one could edit or at least delete HR data when the HR did not work properly.

You can already do that on the website.

That does not remove the corrupt HR data entirely. I can still see my average, maximum and % in zones. Wonder if that still reflects in the training status (freshness, fitness, fatigue).

@KarlS it is my understanding that using this feature overrides the bad HR data and uses the Perceived Exertion number that you enter to update your fitness and fatigue scores.

Hello @KarlS thanks for the suggestion. This functionality already exists, as @ChrisBerry pointed out -- with the Perceived Exertion. To ensure it does override the erroneous HR data and the new Relative Effort score is reflected in your Fitness & Freshness chart, you have to tick off the "Use instead of Heart Rate" box when you edit your activity.

To entirely remove your HR data, you would have to use a 3rd party site, such as https://www.fitfiletools.com/ (only works for .fit files).

@Soren Thank you for the clarification.

You can do this with the GOTOES tools.  Upload your corrupted file to the tool here:

https://gotoes.org/strava/Combine_GPX_TCX_FIT_Files.php

After you upload, you will be directed to another page where you have a number of options.  You can ignore a lot of them, but you have two choices at this point.  Once choice is to uncheck the heart rate stream:

Another (probably better) option is to just enter your correct maximum heart rate for the day here:

If you take the 2nd choice, you will still have your heart rate data, and only the buggy, excessive heart rate data will be stripped.
