Hello, When you check one of the segment's leaderboards, you see your position compared to the others, but it could also be nice to show it in the form of an histogram (frequential distribution of the times of everyone and where you stand in there). Adding one histogram inside of each leaderboard (or at least the "All" one) would provide interesting information on if you're part of the most common times or no. We already have such information in the Local Legend feature, with an histogram showing the number of efforts. Here is an example of what it could look like:  It is important to me because I don't feel it's enough to know if I'm in the Top X people of the segment, I would also like to know where most of the people stand and see where I stand in this gaussian distribution. Thanks you for reading. (The paragraph below is for devs and maths people). Implementation thoughts : The Y axis would of course be the number of ahtletes, but for the X axis it's a bit harder. It could be seconds per seconds, but that would make a lot of bars. So maybe say that one bar represents all the people in an X seconds range, with X being a percentage of the segment time. And then decide what should be the segment time for this calculation (KOM, Average, Max...), see which one gives the most readble results.   ... View more

It would be super cool to be able to see historically what the KOM has been over time. The purpose of this is that for most of us, our records will eventually be beaten, but it would be cool to be able to look back on a segment and see the record over time. I think it's time we the amateurs had our app back.  Strava should have a section just for Pro or ex pro riders separate from amateurs.  They can still compete for the same segments, just amongst themselves hence StravaPro, as alot of times they use data from races with closed roads and elevated speeds of a group or peleton.      ... Ten year age bands are fine for younger athletes but as you get older these bands need to be narrower (suggest 5 years) to allow for the more rapid degradation in performance expected at this age. Surely a 64 year old can’t be expected to compete at the same level as a 55 year old. So perhaps after the 45 to 55 band it should go to 55 - 60 and 5 year increments thereafter. ... View more

When recording rides using the Strava app on Android, the time measured on segments often differs from the time finally shown after saving/uploading the activity. For example, while riding through a segment, the app shows 42 seconds as a result. After finishing the ride, the time calculated on the Strava server (and displayed on the activity) is 43 seconds. This can lead to frustration when hunting KOMs. It would be better if the mobile app and the server would use the same algorithm to calculate segment times from the recorded GPS coordinates. ... Currently, the lower age groups are 19 and below, however, most 19-year-olds can bike at a very high level, and the difference between a 15-year-old and a 19-year-old is higher than a 25-year-old and a 35-year-old.  This would also credit upcoming talents in the U17 and U15 groups.  Later a POM (Prince or Princesse of the Mountain) could also make sense for each age group. Many running segments’ leaderboards are plagued with activities done by inline skaters, scooter riders and similar. At the same time, those activities often have an easily identifiable cadence pattern, and you can immediately say that such activity was not a run (fast consistent pace x low & inconsistent cadence).  Currently, the only way to get rid of these entries on the leaderboard is to flag them manually. It would be much better if an automated check was implemented - ideally both for currently uploaded activities (an athlete attempting to save such record as a “Run” is notified that they’re using a wrong activity type), as well as for historical records (option to trigger an auto-check for a specific segment and flag non-compliant activities). As Strava usefully records distances per bike (under Profile), this feature could be maximised by enabling segment times to be selected (differentiated) on bike (type) used. I have a road bike have also used a touring bike which means that if I have ridden my road bike along the same segment as the touring bike, all the times for the touring bike are effectively irrelevant (always beaten by my faster road bike). At the moment when viewing the list of attempts per segment it is not even possible to see which bike was used for each attempt. Furthermore, it would be very useful to extend the "per bike" functionality as a Search criterion or column in the My Activities menu (this feature is already possible in Garmin Connect). ... Often times, I will ride different routes to the same locations on my ride. For example, I live about 5 miles from a nearby bridge which I often ride to. The path I take changes, but the start and end points remain the same. It would be very interesting to see my fastest time between these two points within one ride, regardless of the route.  This is why I suggest the feature of waypoint routes for biking. Overview: On a layer within the map, user identifies two (or more) locations by dropping pins. User can name and save the route (public or private). Leaderboards generate in a similar fashion to segments with all features and stats (KOM, your personal PRs, attempts, etc.) In short, this feature is extremely similar to segments, but instead of considering statistics for one continuous section of a ride, only the start and end points are considered for a waypoint route. However a rider gets from Point A to Point B is not considered. This feature will facilitate exploration to with the goal of finding new routes to take between two waypoints, especially in urban environments. ... View more

This activity,  specifically this segment  is a loop, there are other segments that are multiple laps of the park, like this 8-laps of fury, but it would be cool if Strava automagically counted laps of segments during a single activity and broke down your paces, lap times, and kept track of who has the most laps, fastest laps, etc.  ... Hi, I love segments, and leaderboards. And it's very great that top 10s were added. However the gamification has so much more potential. An idea for segment KOM/QOM territories. There could be highlights on the map showing who holds the most KOMs/QOMs in a specified area. Similar to (strategy) videogames, when you have control over a certain area.     ... View more

If I am looking at someone else's activity on the iOS mobile app, and tap into a Segment they matched with, I only see my own position on the leaderboard. If I have no times on that segment, then I see just the Top 10, which isn't very useful information. This does not match the user's expectation - since I am looking at my friend's activity, I should be able to see their rank on the leaderboard, along with my own to see our relative positions on the leaderboard. This feature would help me know how to encourage my friend (eg, they were in the top 1% of people on the segment, I could shout that out; if they were #11, I'd tell them to work harder next time..) Note that this information is available on Desktop Web - on a friend's activity, I can see their position on a segment's leaderboard, and compare it to my own. ... View more

Hello. I have an idea to put forward for a possible improvement in the future. Whenever I achieve a new PR on a segment I’m always intrigued to what my improvement was and how it’s changed my standing with the people I follow. To do this I have to manually go through my previous attempts and the ‘graph’ that accompanies them. The new PR has a subtle gold circle/dot, my request is that the silver and bronze segments also have a colour coded circle to symbolise their ranking and thus allowing people to gauge the difference more easily. Hi Strava Team, I think it will be great to add a link to Race Routes on Strava. This is important because: Athletes use Race Routes to train for upcoming races (5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, full marathons, century rides, swimming events, triathlons) Race Routes may motivate people to sign up for their local races because it is easier to get to a nearby race Race Routes help athletes prepare for their races and see the elevation profile on Strava rather than a pdf image on the race website Race Routes help athletes during the race without mistakes from police/coordinators on bikes leading the race. (This happened to my friends at smaller local races!) Race Routes allow athletes to connect with other athletes who have ran the race. Create a segment for the route so that athletes see the KOMs/QOMs and rankings on Strava for the full race routes An example of when I would use this feature is whenever I am signing up for a new race and looking to study the race course profile. Strava segments are one of the most important features Strava has to offer. Most people are mainly interrested in segment times of their followers. Many use phones for quick access to Strava. On the mobile you don't see segment times for Following on virtual rides (Zwift). You do on IRL rides though. I wish we could see Following segment times for Zwift segments as well. ... View more

When my PR on a segment is from a private ride, it would nice to see the "private/virtual classification" on the leaderboard (i.e. where would I be if I made the ride public). Maybe it would be as simple an indicator in the leaderboard (i.e. my PR is better then all the times up to this position, even if I'm not on the leaderboard because of private rides); or maybe it would actually be as complicated as showing the leaderboard re-ordered as if the ride was public. ...
