With Parkrun and their recent decision not to have results anyone can look at, I propose a user allocated time specifically for the Parkrun event. It would give Parkrunners a way onto Strava, especially if promoted at the event, like an opt in of the data Parkrun decided to remove. It would be active only for Saturday Mornings and only allow a running distance of up to 6km's to be recorded for the hour of the event. As a Premium user of Strava it could also make the segment data more complete and be motivational to since people arguing themselves go up the leaderboard. If Parkrun was open to the idea of Strava offering this for Parkrunners with the idea of opt-in comparative performance data, as a type of non monetary supporter of the event I can only see it as a win-win for the current Parkrun situation! 😁 ... Creo que sería buena idea crear un sitio donde se reflejen automáticamente los puertos ascendidos con su correspondiente categoría y poder consultar las ascensiones de.manera similar a la consulta de segmentos pero en vez de por tiempo, por número/categoría de puertos. Can we just get a feature added to Strava that inserts that photo or logo (or photos when it’s multiple challenges or an achievements) of the challenge that completes an activity into the media for that activity? Let us choose in settings if we want that image as default or the map? ... View more

There could be a mode that users opt into where any time you pass someone you're not doing an activity with, you are awarded a Greyhound badge. The person that gets passed would receive a Rabbit demerit. If the Rabbit doesn't achieve a new PR on a segment in the next few days, the demerit stays on the account.  This could be a fun way to encourage a friendly rivalry with strangers. It could be a fun motivator to see if you can catch up to the next person you see, or encourage you to keep up the pace if someone is coming up behind you. You never know who else might be on Strava. Even if you do get passed, the motivation is there to do your best on your next activity.  If user names are shared when someone passes you, or you pass someone else, it could be an introduction to people you share routes with. ... What if Strava subscribers could give and even receive sponsorship? I could imagine myself paying for a more expensive subscription tier that allowed me to allocate a portion of that subscription cost to other athletes in the community. How much more expensive? I don't know... But here are some reasons why I could imagine myself and maybe others might consider paying in to this tier: I want to support a friend of family member who's starting their fitness journey I want to support the local legends in my community (which would hopefully inspire competition among other community members to make their accounts public, pay into the sponsor-level subscription tier, and compete for that status) I'm a local business owner or enterprise leader and want to sponsor a specific athlete or private group in my community I'm a local business owner or enterprise leader and want to sponsor a badge where participants in the subscription tier can win the proceeds. I want to tap in to my competitive side and see if I can break even on my subscription cost by accruing sponsorship $ through the means suggested above. I'm a content creator in the fitness space and this is an additional source of income with a hight cost:benefit ratio. The same mechanism could be used for athletes to allocate their sponsorship to  charitable causes. Probably more reasons I haven't thought of... I suppose this idea could also be reworked so that participants earn points rather than $. Strava would have to establish relationships with retailers for participants to redeem their points. This idea certainly isn't reinventing the wheel as subscriptions with profit sharing already exist. But I think an online fitness community like Strava has a higher percentage of users who want to see the people they follow succeed compared to other platforms (this is obviously completely anecdotal). And I think allowing for the sponsorship to potentially come back to the individual sponsors in a variety of ways encourages the type of competition that benefits the participants at least in terms of their fitness but also potentially their wallets. Anyways, there's probably a massive issue with this idea that's in my blindspot or someone has thought of this already and it wouldn't work. Wouldn’t it be awesome to have Strava detecting if the activity is a commute one? Bike rides that are repetitive and on same roads are not adding anything interesting the the experience. It would be great to have them labeled by detection, and to hide these commute activities from the social feed ... View more

Ciao. Each user could highlight his best routes. These routes could be collected and spotted in the strava app route builder as "strava users suggested routes". Strava could also add the opportunity to rate/evaluate the routes providing information about difficulty and path conditions. More an idea to fix a bug than a proper new idea: There seems to be cases where the same person can be added to a group activity multiple times. Maybe when there is some auto detection and at the time the user is added manually.  This messes up the view in the app and you can give kudos to the same person multiple times. Sometimes when i go on rides or mountain bikes with friends strava doesn't recognise it. its strange because a lot of the time i come up on my friends activity but they wont come up on mine. We also start and finish in the same spot. Is there a way you could pair people up more easily? I know you can select them after the activity but this creates a big second post on the strava 'wall' which i find silly. Mayb when we add friends to our activity via the manage group button, dont post the big second post thing to the wall and just add them 'quietly'?  Pic below is what i mean by quietly.  added here 'quietly'   Below is the big second post im referring to.
