Some strava members sign up for hundreds of random strava clubs around the globe. And some of those members want their 100 mile weeks to show up in hundreds of local clubs and dominate the weekly rankings.
Many of those clubs have in their title a clear indication that they are intented for runners or riders of a certain geographical area: a town, region or even a country.
And these athletes who sign up for massive amounts of random clubs never been there or plan to, not even to that country or continent in some cases.
My suggestion would be to have the possibility of geolocating a club with a radius around it. And you could only be a part of that club's weekly distance, elevation and time rankings if you logged in an activity within that radius in the last 12 months or something like that.
Another option would be to simply have a "Local" or "regional" club cathegory and limit the amount of those clubs per athlete, say 5 or 6 tops.
