Both the training calendar and log present already recorded data with links to each activity on a given day, all organized in a weekly grid format; the Training Calendar displays one month at a time with total time, distance, personal records, and number of activities; the Training Log is more dynamic in that it provides a scrolling view of each week with total distances, and the ability to filter by activity, in addition to completed races arranged chronologically.

I'm suggesting 2 things:

1.  Add the monthly aggregate data from the Training Calendar onto the top of the Training Log; this will help reduce some redundancy.

2.  Add the ability to "schedule" your future weekly activities (run, ride, cross-training, etc.) - nothing fancy, just some simple data entry for date, time, distance.  For instance, I have recorded 5 activities this week (Mon-Thurs), and my Training Log shows Total Distance for those, but I have roughly 4 more activities planned for the week, including a 10-mile leg in a relay race.  Ideally, those which have already been uploaded, and those which are scheduled would provide the user a dynamic estimate of weekly/monthly distance; including STRAVA club events which the user has already RSVP'd to would automatically populate the Training Log and provide an absolute one-stop-shop.

The ability to upload your own training plans would be huge. The OPs second point about 'scheduling' future plans is what I am looking for. I have my own training plan for the next 4 months and would love to upload that to view in the training calendar. You should be able to easily see what was planned vs what was completed, if you are behind, ahead, etc. I'm thinking about running so mileage would be the key data point there.

Plan out your week with your activities. Running, strength training, etc: Each daily activity could have a specific target. Stay in heart zone, burn this many calories, etc. Each activity can be very specific like Tempo Run, Hill session, Long Run, Cardio session (calories burnt), or weight session including how many sets and reps you aim to do.

I would like the ability to plan out my own future training plan into the training calendar. Similar to the current format showing you training completed, but for the future. I'd like it to be colour coded for easy, long run, workout, cross training etc.

I understand there are training plans available on Strava, however I want full control to build my own. It would be cool to also have the ability to give view/edit access a coach too.

Up vote for the idea to scheduled future training!

i would love to be able to plug in the next few weeks of my running plans into my app.

ie weekly goal 24km
week 2 26km
week 3 30km

etc. this would save me tracking this off platform as i am at the moment

Hey @peterjadams,

Would you mind going into further detail about your idea?
Are you insisting you would like to create goals further out than once a week?

hi byrant,

sure - i'd like to be able to complete my weekly goal on ie a saturday and have it set up for next week already, rather than waiting for it to tick over at midnight.

i'd like to create goals further out then one week, yes.

Adding on to the training calendar/log we have, I would find it very useful to have the ability to plan future activities for the upcoming weeks, months, etc. to really help the user with estimating weekly mileage, and make organizing easier when there’s multiple workouts in a day to keep track of.

Having a full calendar inside the strava app would be very helpful to keep all workouts and fitness life in one place without having to use separate apps on (sometimes) separate devices to keep track of all future workouts.

Hi @-SBRuns-!

It's a great idea. I think that using Strava as an activity log is something absolutely common, so can use it as a calendar for future activities could be a helpful resource. This would be particularly interesting in order to prepare for a long race over several weeks or months.

Greetings!

Would it be possible to give me the ability to enter my own customized training plan on the Training Plans for Runners page on the Strava Website.

- This would give me the ability to choose a start date and enter either the miles or time that I would run on a given day.

- I would also have the ability to indicate if a specific day is an easy run, cross training, interval training, tempo, or rest.

- I would have the ability to name the training plan and view my upcoming weekly schedule on both the website and mobile app.

- I would have the ability to edit/modify the training plan as needed. A nice to have would be to have the ability to have this feature on the Strava Mobile App.

Hi,

I think the biggest feature that Strava premium is missing is the adaptive/personalized training plans. Currently training plans seems to not be integrated with the app but rather something that people can find on the internet, print out and try to follow the best they can.

The app should show and notify about the training segments and the pace that they should be ran in real time. Between the trainings (weekly? bi-weekly? after each test run?) app should adjust the pace, lengths and training types based on the results.

All of the competitor apps have this kind of adaptive training plans, which looks quite strange to me why Strava doesn't, even if it's on the market for such a long time.

Also, with the recent advancements of the AI, I think these training plans could be made even better than in other apps. For example:
- Strava can intelligently propose the route to match the length of the training
- Adjust the training based on the weather conditions and surface
- Check out the workout effort (or weekly effort) to understand if the training is too easy or too hard
- Match scheduled training with other activities (for example, if I have planned a training today, but I did some biking, app can adjust so I won't overtrain)
- Look at the data (anonymously) of other runners about training they were doing and learning what works best (some training routine can be better for one person while the other won't benefit as much)

All of it can be implemented in stages, but the most important part is to start with this adaptive, personalized training plans.

Thanks,

Damian

I think Strava training plans are just for marketing so they can list that in the subscriber features. I would wager nobody really uses them. The system was already outdated for decades when it was introduced.

The abiltity to also see your Form and Fitness projections based on the upcoming workouts (assuming the users avg effort) => maybe add a feature that allows the user to define what level workout the workout will be
