Was it an activity once and … removed? That sounds even weirder than not having in the first place. In any case, I support you on this and I don't even skateboard. 😉
Surfing and snowboarding are available, but skateboarding isn't.
You could record skate runs (I call them runs, not rides, but that's just me) as "Ride". I have my skateboards set up as bikes. This works as long as auto-pause is turned off. If it isn't, the activity often pauses between pushes. But then you have bike rides and skating as the same activity type.
You could pick snowboarding, except you get the same problem — like a lot of skaters, I'm dreaming of logging hundreds or thousands of snowboard runs this winter. 😀 Plus, snowboard activities appear on the feed with sport-specific data, number of runs and vertical.
It's a mentality thing, I know, but logging skateboarding as any other sport feels like I imagine it would feel to log yoga as MMA (or the other way around). E-bike ride? Inline skating? ... aw, just no.
Now, I see that "skateboard" is still listed in the API under ActivityType — so, if it was available in the app before, could it be added back?
Skateboarding, along with Sailing, Soccer, and Golf are now available activity types on the web and on the mobile app! You can read more about the new sports types added here.
