I think it would be great if Strava pulled Running Dynamics data from Garmin Connect and other platforms.

What is it?

Running dynamics in Garmin Connect shows average running cadence, max running cadence, average stride length, average vertical ratio, average vertical oscillation, average ground contact balance, and average contact time.

Why is it important?

Running dynamics helps runners improve their running form and prevent injuries. The data helps runners analyze their strides, vertical oscillation and ground contact at specific times. This data is valuable and I would like to see it directly in Strava.

How to implement it?

I think it can be pulled from Garmin Connect and shown within View Analysis for the activity on mobile or desktop. It will track variation over the map on Strava web. I am not sure if running dynamics data is available across other platforms.

Note: When checking through the community before posting this, I saw that there was already a discussion about Garmin Running Dynamics under Devices and Connections back in August 2022, but the idea wasn't submitted for voting. Can we link them together?

Hi again @Shant

Just wanted to mention that you currently can see you average cadence on the running cadence on the graph below your activity map.

@Jane one of the most useful stats that shows up in the Garmin app and doesn't show up in Strava and it's a shame, is the ground contact time balance percent. That means how much time on the ground each leg is spending as total ground time. This can indicate an unbalanced posture and help people correct it with the help of coaches or otherwise. Devices such as the Garmin HRM pro or stryd synced to Garmin connect provide all that information but that never shows up in the data sync to Strava.

@Roadrunnerqleap 100% agree Gabriel and this data can be used to recommend Strava's Recover Athletics app
