I think it would be interesting if popular segments (segments that several people have starred, and that have a lot of attempts) had forums of their own, where athletes who’ve attempted the segment can post comments about it.

Hi @Aitor can you provide more information and details on how you envision this 'segment forum' to take shape? Do you mean enabling discussions regarding the segments within the app, in this Community Hub, or something else? We're interested in knowing why this would be useful to you and others. Feel free to edit your idea so it reflects the details you have in mind. Thank you for your contribution.

Hi Soren,

I meant in the app. It could be used for so many things. Take a popular climb in London, Swain’s Lane (my favourite!) - users could comment on how they found it today, if there are any road works, tips for climbing it, which cafe is best etc! They might find something new about somewhere they visit often. And if people could search segments for ones with forum entries, they can research before a visit.

thanks,

Aitor

Thanks for the response and clarification. So you mean essentially enabling a discussion space for popular segments. Your idea was reviewed by our moderation team and is now open to voting!

Hi,

I think it would be great to add Kudos and Comments for popular Segments in Strava.

This is important because:

  • This will allow the community to connect with each other in a new way
  • Kudos will allow the community to upvote popular segments and Segments can be ranked by popularity
  • Comments will allow the community to discuss segments (feedback, strategy, tips) and athletes can share their thoughts about a mountain trail, a track, or a city street in a public thread rather than in their personal activity

As an example, if there were comments for 400m/800m/1mile/5K/10K/half/full marathon segments for racing, the comments section would be an ongoing conversation between local legends, top ten, QOMs, KOMs, and anyone can ask for feedback on how to improve their times and move up the leaderboard.
