When I climb stairs outdoors, Run, Walk, and Hike all auto-pause too aggressively. GPS accuracy is poor on the tight turns at the top and bottom of a set of stairs, so I end up selecting Run/Race just to get a better approximation of the time I spent moving. A separate activity type would be more accurate and more descriptive. If the activity has altitude data, that could be useful to be even less aggressive about auto-pausing at the altitude-based turnarounds, and could also be used to add an automatic “number of sets of stairs” to the activity.

Please make it possible to edit and add the number of stairs or floors (or elevation gain) to Stair stepper activities coming from Garmin, or Strava recording. You may need a field for step height though to get elevation gain. Thank you

Hello. We wanted to let you know that your idea submission from December of 2022 will be archived. While this idea is interesting, we don’t have any immediate plans to implement this and currently aren’t able to prioritize this idea.

Please note that your feedback is valuable to Strava. As stated in our Community Idea Guidelines, we receive many idea submissions each week, and realistically, there may be various reasons that prevent us from including an idea on our Product Roadmap.

We want to thank you for taking the time to submit your idea and we look forward to your continued contributions to the Strava Community.
