Hi Strava,
I think having a Track & Field Finder with comments within maps can be a beneficial feature for athletes.
- Athletes train at public tracks, play soccer, play football
- We don't know if the tracks are open or closed to the public. Or if there are bathrooms.
- There is a website called RunTrack.Run that helps to find tracks, but I think it can be improved if more of the sports community help in operations. The running community can list information about the track's access, opening/closing times, bathroom access, using a general comment feature for people to discuss like a club page
- The problem is if someone is traveling in a new city, they have to look on Strava's map to see if they can find a nearby track. The routes feature doesn't always show tracks for flat workout sessions and we don't know if it's available.
An example of when I needed this feature - I went to a track this weekend that I thought was open to the public, but it was closed. I got locked in trying to access the track from the backside and then had to jump a fence to get out.
