What is a label and how do they work?

Labels are organizational tools created by administrators that allow us to categorize the content created in Community in a meaningful way. Anytime a new discussion topic, blog, or knowledge article is created, a selection of label options can be chosen from to help define the content at a high level. As an example, labels could be as simple as Run, Ride, or Swim.

The labels you see in one area might not be the same that are available on another board, because they are personalized for each board.

Keep in mind that you can use more than one label at a time, the key is to use what makes the most sense to help us navigate specific content instead of scrolling through the entire forum.

How do you find labels to subscribe to?

Labels are located in content boxes located on the right-hand side of any board page. Our board pages are the sub pages listed under the categories in the main navigation (Basecamp, Help & Ideas).

Current Board Pages:

  • Basecamp = Starting Line, Campfire Chat, Strava Insider Journal
  • Help & Ideas = Strava Features Chat, Devices and Connections, Ideas, Athlete Knowledge Base

How do you subscribe to a label?

You can receive notifications whenever new content is published with a specific label if you subscribe to it. From the Labels content-box located on the right-hand side of any board page, select an option from the labels listed. Once selected, you should see every corresponding post associated with that label. On the next page, you will see a banner that states the label you are viewing and an option to subscribe to the label.

You also have the option to subscribe using the Options menu on the right-hand side of the Labels page.

What are tags?

Tags work similarly to hashtags on social media and can be added by the author of any post. They should ideally be comprised of main keywords or features within the comment/idea. If you click on a tag, you will see the option to filter content either within the specific board it lies within or at the entire community level. It will display all posts that include the same tag and the right-hand column will show you related tags that you can also explore. You cannot subscribe to tags.

Some of my recent Zwift rides are being captured in my personal Strava account, but not in my totals for the clubs I belong to.  This is an intermittent problem. Sometimes I go weeks without this happening, and sometimes my rides get omitted a couple of times per week.  I have not changed my settings.  They are set so that others may see my ride data.  I have tried to resolve this problem through Strava's tech support site to no avail.  While not a show stopper, it is mightily frustrating because there seems to be no rhyme nor reason for this to happen.  Can anyone help me with this issue?
