As a user who takes part in events and trains swimming, I would like the ability to change the activity type to workout/race.  So that I can better describe what type of activity it was.

Currently, you can only mark a swim activity with the commute activity type (who is commuting via swimming?!). It would be great if you could describe your activity as doing drills (and hence speed will be significantly slower), or race so I can accurately find it in my timeline/Calander.

I had raised a ticket about this very subject and have been directed here.

I completed a 27 mile Off Road MTB Challenge on my Cube Reaction Hybrid and the only option was 'Commute'.

This is now an outdated single option as ebiking is in the UCI World Champs!!

Come on Strava, get with the times and add all or other options.

If this gets updated maybe more of the challenges will include 'E-bike' or E-Mountain Bike' too instead of just 'Ride'

I agree. Also "race". On Zwift I do easy rides and workouts and races but there is no way of identifying these types like there is with runs, rather all are just classed as 'indoor cycling'.

On any run or bike, you can currently mark it as a race, but this same functionality is not available for swims. This would be beneficial for both swimmers and triathletes, as you currently cannot mark all three parts of your race as a race, meaning the swim isn't easily visible in the training log like the bike and swim are.

Here is a picture of the current functionality for a cycling activity that doesn't exist for swimming

I am just back on zwift after having the summer off and have now noticed this.  Any zwift activity is auto set to virtual ride.  no ability to change it to workout or race.  SUPER ANNOYING that this feature has gone.  PLEASE ADD IT BACK

Thats a really good idea, I also miss the race option. Not to say that the commute option is totally pointless

Not sure why this feature was ever removed and feels like a regressive step in the overall user experience. As other virtual riders will I am sure agree, a Zwift race is very different to a free ride. Losing the ability to tag my virtual rides with these different descriptions means I am less able to easily monitor my training. Please reinstate, thank you!

I honestly don't see the point in this community hub, when all Strava do is take your money and don't listen to or respond to our comments!

I think its so weird you can commute swim, but not race swim. Doesnt make any sense?? You also can't race whilst rowing according to strava, which obviously isnt true!

Also, says we can vote as a reply, but where is this function?

You can vote with kudos given to the original idea

It is a fact that people rely on various physical activities such as cycling, running, and walking for their daily commute. However, it is safe to say that swimming to work is not a common practice among commuters. I

t seems reasonable to consider the activity option of triathlon, which entails cycling, running, and swimming, for interested individuals.

Hey @Soren,

Can we get an update on this? Over a year has gone by on this request (probably more if you count the tickets that came before it) and no news. It’s super frustrating not being able to specify that a swim activity was a race; particularly when it was a part of a triathlon. Super weird to be looking through your Training Log and seeing only the Bike and Run activities highlighted.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure what there is to vote for.... commute makes no sense, race does... just get it done. It's been a while now...

Does seem silly that a rowing workout can only be tagged as a commute
