I would like to have audio cues while cycling to include mileage markers. This would include overall mileage reached, the time it took for the last mile and average speed for the mile. Other people may like to have added information. This would help to keep track of progress on longer rides and also progress on repeated rides. For example comparing ride times on specific segments like a hill climb. Sport tracker app had something similar which was helpful.

I recommend adjusting the app to where an individual can receive announcements from any activity. Currently, individuals only receive time, distance, and pace while running. There isn't an announcement for other activities. Considering that I will ride my bike or walk instead of running, I still would like to know how I'm performing. With knee and back injuries, I have zero intentions of running unless I'm being chased by zombies. But getting announcements on how I'm performing while conducting the activity is extremely helpful.

Considering how old this was posted, was there ever a solution?

I enjoy distance walking and I would really like to be able to hear distance updates as I walk. Without this ability, I have to check my phone as I walk to gauge my distance walked. I love this feature for runs, and I don’t understand why it isn’t already possible for walks.

I can achieve what I want by starting a run when I’m actually walking and then changing the activity to a walk before posting, but it would be much simpler to support distance audio cues for walks

I find the audio cues while running to be a great feature. However, sometimes I opt for the trail run activity or even walk or hike. Suddenly I am not able to get notifications despite it being the same basic idea.

This also became an issue with a friend of mine who is blind. I introduced him to Strava as a way to track our activities when we walk together. He relies entirely on audio cues on his iPhone to help him navigate. But he misses out on Strava’s audio cues (i.e. “Distance - 1 mile, time; 8:53”). He cannot run, only walk. But he really loves the cues. His only workaround is to use “run” when he’s actually walking.
Additionally I myself would love to hear audio cues when I’m hiking, skiing, trail running, kayaking, etc. It’s impractical for activities like swimming, but I can’t think of why these can’t be enabled for at least walking.
