I access Strava mostly through the phone app (Android).  Several people that I'm connected with post in other languages. I would like to be able to translate and read what they post, but currently text copying is disabled in the app.  That is where the user does a long tap on a piece of text and then has the option of copying it to the clipboard.  Such a feature would make it a lot easier for me to communicate with my Strava connections.

Thanks for submitting your idea to copy text in the app, may I edit it to also include iOS to be more inclusive?

Got my vote. Definitely needed on iOS as well, and for pretty much every single app out there while you’re at it 😆

Using the Tour de France as an example, many comments are in different language since riders and fans are from all over the world.  It would be great to be able to click on a translation option for comments so that you can see what people are saying in other languages native to your own language.  Thanks!

@Soren My ask is taking this to another level.  Why require the user to copy paste to a 3rd party translator when you can build that into the product itself?  I understand consolidating requests but my request is probably the end state solution, IMO.

@struo1 I think copy is a great function in itself.  Translate is good too, but it requires another complex UI component, whereas copy-text is quite simple.  If there were a simple way to integrate clipboard/context menu with translate then that might be nice too, but I am generally a fan of a minimal and simple UI.

I follow a few international athletes and they comment their activity in their native language or other people comment under post in different languages. Would be good to have a translation option even if not perfect grammar but at least understand the gist of it.
