There needs to be an update of various levels for climbing (as has previously been done with distance challenges) in the cycling monthly challenges as 7,500m can be done without any real effort depending on your location.

@MattW5 you may not call it sensitive, but I am. I just wish Strava would bring back 1250 km distance challenge and even more, so that other users can enjoy the app. As I wrote before, Strava shouldn't have removed it, but simply add 600K, 800K or whatever. There should be challenges for everyone not only for those that are not able to cycle more.

Peace ✌🏻

Please bring back 200k and 300k running achievements. I've been only doing 100k running for a few years and I have only achieved the 200k once but it has always been something that motivated me. Not having the achievement makes my motivation to run suffer. I'm still going to try to improve but the role Strava plays in my workouts would lessen. I let it slide this year when the time came to renew my subscription - so it automatically updated. Next time I'll remember this problem and will likely take the effort to cancel the auto-renewal. I will still use Strava as a non-paid member.

February challenges posted and still no sign of 200k and 300k challenge. At least explain why @stravamh

Looks like kudos are closed on a lot of these comments. Interesting.

Put the 200k and 300k monthly running challenges back. Why have you removed them? They’re supposed to be a challenge, that’s the whole point. It feels like you’re dumbing down on them and getting rid of any which might be “challenging”.

@stravamh strava cycling challenges for February are weak. Not even going to bother signing up for 200 and 600k. I'm sitting on the 27th of the month at 1396km and 17000m of climbing. Nothing to cater to the fitter riders and runners.

I suppose inclusivity is great when you exclude a particular group of people. 👍🏻

Yeah, I think I also am not going to bother signing up for challenges unless 200k and 300k running challenges are back.

Why have the 200 and 300 km challenges been removed?

why is the distance now merged in with walking?

I just worked so hard to run 200km in Jan, and there is now no badge.

what is the reason for the removal?  It better be good.

Literally the only way, and it sucks.

Why have the strava admins gone quiet? You seem to have disappeared 👻

Re the removal of 200km and 300km badges, as another user wrote, I feel like we’ve all been merged into one big group.

@admin, is this change in the product and service that you offer, grounds for cancelling a premium subscription?

I seem to have been merged into this chain from a different one (for the fifth time) so I’ll repeat my comment.

this change is a retrograde step which benefits nobody and annoys many loyal subscribers for no obvious reason.

Strava admins - this is becoming less about the badges (which may seem silly to you, but as these comments attest are part of the gamification that has made Strava a success and has pushed us outside on days when we would rather stay in bed) but more about your ability/willingness to listen to the community that is Strava

There seems to be an awful lot of people with the idea of bringing back the 200 and 300 km monthly running challenges.

i cannot see any way of voting for this on any comment.

if this has been looked at by Strava, and a final decision has been made, please can you let us know the outcome?

if you are to reinstate it, perhaps do this before the end of the month so people can get their January badges.

thanks

I would like to have monthly challenges for running distance. For example 100km, 200km, 300km.

They would make for a great way to keep track of not just your own monthly running total, but your friends too.

Also, hitting the target and winning a badge makes you feel good and gives you the incentive to push yourself little harder.

Totally agree

If we had monthly running challenges for set distances I think it would be a great motivator for the vast amount of runners that use Strava to record runs.

I also feel that not listening to community feedback might put Strava in a tough position if and when a good competitor comes along.  Or at the very least, subscriptions might fall, due to the poorer app experience for the majority
