If you finish the activity accidentally during the route (garmin Edge buttons sucks), you should be able to combine with the next activity.

Hi. It would be really useful to be able to concatenate training when, for whatever reason, your watch or other device has incorrectly stopped (not paused) mid-session. In these cases, one session will seem like two or more sessions. It would be good to be able to zip them back together as one. Thank you!

It would be great to merge activities what comes closely to each other. Sometimes it happens that I stop accidentally my ride on the computer, and if I don't merge them with a 3rd party software, I cold loose a Grand Fondo or something like that.

The other way I thought, that is merging activities in a group. I do triathlon, and it would be great to see the parts together.

Hi @Arturo

Thanks for submitting your idea. It has been reviewed by our moderation team and is now open to voting.

I also wanted to be sure you knew it is possible to do this now with third party tools.  Instructions are here.

I know it may seem trivial but it would be handy to be able to group 2 activities as if they were one. This would allow to overcome the gps bugs that are often annoying during a long activitie.

And dark mode pliiiiiiz

This would be a handy feature in certain situations with recording malfunctions. I have occasionally had to stop recording in the middle of a ride when my Garmin froze so I end up with 2 shorter rides instead of 1 longer ride. On the other hand, I can see the potential for abuse if people had the ability to join unrelated short rides to create the appearance of a long ride. There would need to be some kind of reasonable limit on time overlap for this to make sense.

On the flip side of this argument, there should be way to prevent multiple rides from being posted as a single event. I see people recording multi-day tours as a single ride when in fact they only rode for a few hours per day and just paused the recording at the end of each day. They end up posting something that looks like they rode several hundred miles non-stop when what they actually did was a series of shorter daily rides over a week or more.

Thanks for the attention, I did a search previously and read this suggestion and I seen it's basically about concatenating 2 activities together in 1 file, in case of a user error or technical malfunction (I did that in past by exporting the files and merging them with a text editor or other web tool).

Linking 2 activities into one meta-activity seems to be a totally different feature that is unfortunately not available unless we move from Strava to another visualization tool, as it's more about presenting data in a more natural way to the people browsing the activities. If it wasn't clear the suggestion was about presenting 2 activities together even if they are made with totally different tools (e.g. one is synced from Zwift and other is recorded via a Garmin device).

Anyway, I don't know if this ever gets to anyone that has the power of at least considering it but I thought I'd do my part.

Yesterday this happened to me. I accidentally stoped the training on my Wahoo. I immediately restarted it, hoping STRAVA will be able to piece it together. At home I was told better.

I support this idea and I think of a "Merge" button which will be available in the edit section of an activity. This would be much easier than exporting two activities, importing them into a third party app, editing them, saving them, and importing them back into STRAVA....

Cheers
Uli

Totally agree. It’s a pain in the backside and frankly ridiculous to have to go out and back via a third party app. It should be a doddle for Strava to add a Merge button, and would be a good member-only option.

You should not need to rely on 3rd party tools to manipulate your data.

That doesn’t seem safe to me.

This thread contains 2 different features now - fixing a broken activity, and link multi-sport activities. I think the people managing these topics don't even have a basic understanding of the feature requests so it's fair to assume these never get to people actually planning features.

As former Endomondo user (I was really fond of the functionality in this product) I'm still missing the possibility of spitting and especially combining activities within the browser.
Combining is very usefull if you are doing exercises in between rides or runs.
This prevents posting too many activities.

P.S. The current solution Strava provides exporting and using third party apps is cumbersome and not user friendly.

@Mitchemius - I agree, and often, may record an activity with one device to start, then have to switch to another device to complete the activity.  I think there may be another idea out there relating to merging activities together, as far as cleaning up the feed, consider also upvoting the idea on an expand/collapse feature (I know there are some other feed cleanup ideas out there too)

I'm fascinated that we even need to put this functionality to a vote!!

Swim/Run, Aquathon and Bricks immediately come to mind!

I think another element of this is to be able to connect activities after they have been split such as when it’s been split to remove a portion that has been driven. I have quite a few time where one ride looks like two on Strava

There should be a way where actives can be combined in one post. For example when a watch dies so the person switches to record on strava or manually. Another example is when doing a long workout with cooldown/warmups as separate recording on gps device. This would look similar to when two people you follow run together and it is show in one post but separate activities.
