On the mobile app, you can look at another person's profile, and star the routes that they have created that they have made public. However, you cannot do this on desktop.

It would be really useful to be able to do the following on the desktop/browser version of Strava:

- go to somebody's profile
- look at their routes
- star/save/duplicate the ones which they have made public

The exact same functionality already exists in the app.

I don't understand why this feature doesn't already exist and if it does exist why it is so hidden... as Gwilym said, it already exists in app. So why can I not do on web?

Great suggestion! I was on Strava web and looking for exactly that. I had to google it, only to find it exist on Mobile ONLY. It looks like I'm not the only one that uses a computer to find and map out route 🙃

Agreed - I often do my route planning using my computer instead of the app and this seem like a pretty basic need.

it is a very odd and frustrating omission

It's far easier inspecting, planning and choosing a route on a large screen.

So it's definitely appropriate functionality for the web app.

Please add this to Website ... seems silly to have to move device when creating a new route i should be able to use a suggested set and get it pre-loaded let me make it mine by customizing start and end perhaps and done.

In the mobile app, the "Maps" function has option to view publicly shared routes nearby, which is great when visiting a new location. Even filters on min/max distance. This function does not exist on the desktop/website, which is very frustrating!!!! It is far easier to review route maps on a 40in screen, than on a handheld device.

I use Ride With GPS and finding cycling routes in an area is one of the primary features I use most. It's very odd to me this feature does not exist in Strava. Not only is this useful in your home area but it becomes essential when traveling, you need to find existing routes. The heatmap is helpful but very limited, you don't get distance, elevation, or a complete route with directions. By the way I'm trying to do this on the web app because it's too difficult to explore a map on a tiny screen. Check out Ride With GPS, they do a very good job with their route library (and club route library).

Route planning for multi-day tours, let alone longer local rides, is painful on a tiny screen.  Finding routes that others have made public is a great thing to help keep our riding experience interesting!

Please add public route searching to the browser access functionality.  In addition, please do not make searching dependent on knowing who posted the route.  That completely defeats the purpose of "public" route posting.  When I plan a ride in a distant location, it would be really great to see what roads the local folks favor.  The heat maps help, but, since folks make them public, it would great if they were usefully public!

Thanks.

Yeah, I signed up for a trial subscription for this only to discover it wasn't available, won't renew.

I too am confused about why this isn't already available on desktop.  As others have said, route planning is MUCH easier on a computer than it is on a phone.  PLEASE enable this for web users.
