Activity Map

I think it would be neat to see activities populate on the map. Let me explain…

Someone posts an activity (anyone, not just someone you follow) and it shows up on the map where the activity occurred with their profile photo. You could filter the map by activity, zoom and pan to search specific areas of the map, etc. You could also filter between people you follow and everyone on Strava. This would be incredibly useful for getting real-time condition reports from people who were actually there (backcountry skiing, whitewater, surfing, hiking, etc.). It would also be useful in figuring out when certain areas of the map are most popular so one could avoid the crowd, or join if they want more folks around. 

There are a lot of great applications for something like this. Instagram does it with photos, I don’t see why Strava can’t do the same with activities!
