Just wondering why I can't find the January Run 200K & 300K Challenges?

@Jane11

have you had any feedback yet in regards to bring back running only challenges?

Thank you

Nothing

Hi. I'm disappointed the 200k & 300k challenges have been removed. They have been my monthly goals for the past few years and took me from a beginner to a reasonably good ultra runner. Please put some tough challenges back for people looking to progress.

Please, don't remove 200K and 300K badge! And, please add 42,2 badge.

This is a very disappointing change. I think I need to review which paid features I'm actually using and what benefit, if any, I'm actually getting from having a paid subscription.

@Scout don’t just look at this group - see in Strava the ‘bring back the run 300k badge’ - almost 1000 members in a few days… Not everybody has the time to find this chain and post - please listen to your subscribers!

Thanks @MattBrewis just joined the Bring Back the Run 300k Badge club.

It true that our frustration seems to be falling on deaf ears.

cheers

TJ

How does removing and diluting challenges for dedicated runners "support the needs of our growing community"? Let me help: it does not.

Any chance someone might bother updating everyone?

As moderator, can we please have an update. There are a lot of people both confused and upset as to the lack of an update

Update: STRAVA REMOVED HUMAN CHALLENGES SO THEY CAN ADD PET STEP TRACKING.

I know, they likely are not related… but it shows they don’t care about the humans who pay Strava…

What are you doing STRAVA?! Give us humans our challenges back.

I’m just using Garmin more these days, I was mad about this shambles, I’m caring less and less now

Why are the more difficult challenges being removed? Now there are no distance running challenges at all because now apparently walking counts as running. If there was an ask for easier challenges for people new to exercise then that’s great to add new easier challenges for them, but why would you remove the more challenging challenges? This app has a large number of serious distance runners - why are you suddenly ignoring this base? Seems like a bad business move TBH…

Well said. I only just started hitting the 300km target on a regular basis last year but always hit 200km. For me it's a yardstick of my progress.

Why have you not replied to the increasing number of questions on this matter?

Someone else wrote this, and I can’t put it better myself:

“You have defined walks as a different activity than runs, so they should not be combined for a challenged under the title of one specific activity.  You had a whopping total of 6 (yes, six) people support the idea of adding walks to runs.  You have had multiple times that number of separate threads (not to mention support of each thread) requesting you go back to separate challenges.  Can you provide even a simple explanation as to why you are continuing this?”

For context with the 6 people that wanted runs and walks merged, there are 3,200 in a group on Strava asking for it to be reversed.

it might be embarrassing for you, but the sooner you admit the mistake and correct it, the better

I see that we don't have 200km and 300km running challenges for March. As I am unhappy at the contempt that Strava has shown me by removing these challenges I have canceled my Strava subscription. And given them the following reason on why. Lets see if they care about paying customers leaving.

"I am unhappy at the contempt that Strava has shown me by removing the running challenges for 200km and 300km. The only option available to me seems to be cancelling my subscription."

Considering that as well.

So it seems Strava has left us a couple options

1- cancel membership

OR EVEN BETTER

2- AVOID ENTERING SPONSERED CHALLENGES  & EMAIL THOSE COMPANIES EXPLAINING WHY… WE MAY HAVE A LARGER IMPACT (maybe lost revenue and pressure from those sponsored challenges)

Challenges start at $20,000 (USD) and scale based on duration, targeting and promotion. The maximum investment is ~$200k. If a challenge is within your budget and you would like to pursue this opportunity, please get in touch and we will get back to you if we believe there is a fit.

We also miss the running challenges for 200 and 300 km! Please but it again in the selection list. And better mak also challenges for 150 and 250 km!

Thank you

Can the 200km and 300km running challenges be reinstated please? Does anyone know why they have been removed?

There’s already been quite a long thread about this, https://communityhub.strava.com/t5/strava-features-chat/january-run-200k-amp-300k-challenges/td-p/23311

April challenges are up, and still no change or acknowledgment from Strava. Time for another 1 star review on the App Store.

this is why I stopped my subscription.

The badges actually inspired non elite atheletes to challenge themselves and make huge improvements in their fitness and running. A big part of the strava running community enjoyed them and there was absolutely no reason to take them away. It’s an absolutely senseless feature removal that will negatively commercially impact strava and it’s user base. Bring them back please!!!
