I see many old requests and ideas about additional updates and functionality for the Strava Wear OS App that has been closed as “Not planned” while they seem reasonable and important.

For me they are a dealbreaker from converting fully to Strava Premium.

  1. Customizable screen: With more/other datafields
  2. Automatic lap (based on distance or even time)
  3. Map view
  4. Routes to follow on watch

What is happening with the Wear OS app? Are You guys committed to it and planning to update it? 😊

Agreed.   The WearOS app feels like it is being neglected and a lot of the “usability” suggestions would not sound like a significant lift.   Another one to add to your wishlist… better management of syncing back to the main app.  I’ve lost a couple of long hikes that were recording on the watch and never sync’d back to the phone at the end of a session due to some unknown bug (I find I have to reboot the watch to even get a ‘test’ workout to go through).

But.. reading this forum… I suspect that this isn’t a priority for Strava right now.

Ping Strava!

Latest update of the Wear OS App was 16th of September 2024.

Can we expect any updates soon or has the development for the Wear OS platform been discontinued?

As a Pixel Watch 3 owner, I'd love to see an equal update to WearOS as the Apple Watch is (finally) receiving. I would for sure sub to premium if they brought WearOS to parity with WatchOS.
