Hi,

I'm looking into the Strava API, and we'd like to have the ability to start and stop an activity.

However, from what our development says, there is no explanation in the documentation on how to start and stop an activity (such as run, bike, etc)

Does anyone know if this is possible and, if so, how to do it?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan, that's not possible because the Strava API isn't related to the Strava app.

Thanks, Jan.

Do you know, if we want to use the API for a hands-free voice experience on a Blue Tooth device, is there a way to trigger the tracking in the app or to track an activity on our own and then have it imported into the app?

Thank you !

Thanks again for your help, Jan! To be clear, there is no way to start and stop an activity without the app (i.e the API).   We have Voice AI solution for Strava, and we want to build something that will be on 1 million skullcandy headphones and promoted in Walmart...

So the only way to start / stop an activity is using the App?   We were hoping to do through Voice...

Essentially, we want to make Strava available like a voice assistant for Skullcandy earphones (second in sales after Apple), similar to how you might use Siri or Alexa on your phone or smart speaker.  This will make Strava available to millions of users with a simple wake word (Hey, Strava). It would be so convenient for them just to ask a Strava related question (including starting or stopping a run) without having to take out their phone or open an app. It's almost like having a Strava personal assistant built right into their earphones.

Any suggestions?    It's a major opportunity for Strava :).
