The Fitbit Charge 6 used to upload to strava with elevation on hikes bikes walks even though it does not have a built in altimeter, so it has never been possible to track elevation directly with the Charge 6. The GPS chip in the Charge 6 is not designed to display elevation, as it can be very inaccurate. The data i used to see was actually calculated by Strava, and not Fitbit (i.e those who weren’t connected to Strava - or similar app - never saw that data). It seems that there is a recent issue (since Jan 7th 2026) where Strava is no longer able to calculate correctly or just shows 0 (which is what stand alone fitbit is designed to show). One suggested work around : Use "Adjust Elevation" on Strava: Open the affected activity on the Strava website (desktop), click the three-dot menu, and select "Correct Elevation". This forces Strava to recalculate the elevation based on your GPS coordinates and their mapping database.But basically I think you need to go through Strava for a fix.  So

Sport types listed in the API do not match the recent article on supported sport types: https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216919407-Supported-Sport-Types-on-Strava.Can someone please provide a definitive list of supported sport types and their corresponding values for the API?Thanks!

Hi there,It seems like there is a lot of discussions about the webhook API and it seems to be kind of going nowhere.Strava wants to enforce fewer API Calls, but doesn't really make an easy way of going about that, when the webhooks are this limited.I have a list improvements that I can think of:Update on "gear_id" changesUpdate on "workout_type" eg. from none to "race"Update on "type" going from walk -> runThese changes could really make for a better user experience, where right now users of 3rd party apps are kind of forced to update the "short description" of an activity to trigger a webhook.As I mentioned before there has been a lot of talk about this, both on this forum and on the old google user group.But it seems like Strava is not really taking it seriously.Is there any plans at all to improve the Webhook API?

Hi all,I’ve been developing an app with the Strava API like many of you and have run into a novel issue as of yesterday. Oauth is complete, GET, POST, and PUT requests were working, but during some debugging yesterday I got: Error:Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'address').I originally ran into this issue in my IDE and decided to try to reach the Strava API directly, same issue, so was not the program. Any GET request returns this and it’s likely not a token issue as that would just return a normal auth error in the past (as recent as yesterday just before this new error started). Originally the error popped up for GET activity, but now even sending a GET to retrieve a new access token returns this error. It looks like this error is returned while trying to read some undefined object property address (likely either athlete or activity?). Hi everyone,I’m working on a website that integrates with the Strava API to display user activity data such as recent rides, runs, distances, and timestamps. The integration generally works, but I’ve started running into issues where the data returned by the API is either incomplete or delayed compared to what users see directly on their Strava accounts.In particular, newly uploaded activities don’t always appear on my website immediately, even though the access token is valid and the API request completes successfully. If this isn't the right place to post this question, then please tell me where I should (I'm aware the API is only for finished activities).I want to create an Android app that analyses real-time distance and time data. I hope to use the Strava Android app as my real-time data source because (1) it’s my primary app for recording activities; (2) avoids reinventing a distance algorithm; and (3) no two apps will perfectly agree on distance. I’m wondering why my follower and following lists are no longer in alphabetical order?

Hi, I have a "goal" set to do 90mins of "Workout" activities per week. I just set this goal but I noticed that the activity that I logged as a "workout" is not contributing the my goal of 90 mins. You can see the activity and the goal progress in the pics below.Am I doing something wrong?  

At the last couple of track sessions I’ve been to, Strava has only been recording about half of my run. The time continues, so it records the whole time I’m running, but only about half the distance (so it ends up saying I was twice as slow as usual). I’ve been to track sessions for months with no problems, and obviously knew what kind of distance I cover so this is very unusual to happen twice in a row.  Has anyone else experienced this and know of any changes in settings etc. I can make to overcome it? I don’t subscribe to Strava.It used to be that when I clicked on a mile this would be highlighted on the map. When I moved the cursor along the speed/elevation profile a dot would appear at the appropriate point on the map.None of this happens now. It looks as though my map is just a static picture.Have Strava taken this feature away for non-subscribers?I’m using a PC. I’ve tried using Edge and Chrome.

This post is intended to clarify a recurring explanation in this forum that elevation issues with Apple Watch are “Apple’s fault”. I am using an Apple Watch Ultra 3, which records elevation using a barometric altimeter. Ive noticed recently that on my list of activities on the Android app and the site on PC that my ski and snowboard elevation data has either disappeared completely or been wildly inaccurate if the data was recorded with a garmin watch, however any of the data recorded with the app on my phone hasn't been affected.Strangely enough once I click into the activity on the app the correct elevation is still present (see attached image). Has anyone experienced this/is there a known fix?Watches used were a garmin vivoactive 4 and garmin instinct 2x

Hi everyone, I’m looking for clarification about segment leaderboard behavior. On January 31, 2026, I completed a cycling segment.The effort is correctly recorded:- visible in “My Results”- correct time, speed, power and HR- activity privacy is set to Public- no pauses or GPS issues However, my effort does NOT appear in the “Today” leaderboard,while other athletes from the same day do appear. This happened during a group activity, but:- in the past, my segment efforts often appeared in leaderboards even during group rides- recently, this seems to happen more frequently- the effort is recorded but silently excluded, with no explanation I’ve seen several discussions about improving leaderboard accuracy and filtering group efforts.Has there been a recent change in how group rides are handled for segment leaderboards? Is there any official explanation or way for users to understand when an effort is excluded? Thanks in advance.

I wish I could track both my running shoes and my custom insoles as separate gear for mileage. I may switch my insoles to other running shoes, so the mileage will never equate to a single show gear milage. The current menu item is radio buttons so you can only select a single gear on a run. 

New member here, My name is Sanjay. I love the subscription features.I have noticed some features like heart rate zones breakdown over months and years of training is not available on desktop log in but available on cell phone app. Is that true? Also noticed, Strava not calculating my total time correctly compared to Coros dashboard. Not sure how to fix it.

The amount of calories burned when I choose squash is vastly different from when I choose workout. For the same level of activity, if I choose “workout”, I burn 800 calories but if I choose “squash”, I burn 500 calories. I’ve uploaded my heart rate data to other platforms and figured that the “workout” mode is more accurate. Can you please fix this for “squash”?

It seems that activities tagged with "Commute" are not taken into account in the elevation and distance statistics? Do yo confirm? It sounds like a bug to me?

When I go to the the map and i want to choose backcountry ski is not in the list, any ski related sport is not on the list.

Love Strava, so thanks for the work you do.There’s a really annoying bug which I’ve been aware of for months now:On the profile (when using the web app), in the weekly mileage section with the header “Activities for 9 Jun 2025 - 15 Jun 2025,” where it shows the weekly mileage in a sort of bar chart, the bar chart doesn’t update if you run on Sunday. It only updates on the Monday. Annoys me (and I’m sure others), because it’s nice to end a week of training and be able to see that you’ve hit your weekly mileage target.Thanks,Chris
