New problem, or return of an old problem? The app won't even open now and I receive an error message about a glitch... it tells me to wait and reinstall the app once Strava fixes the glitch. When can we expect normal function again?

In the usage statistics of the Strava app, I am not aware of which rules of the community have been violated by my usage of this account. And after making the inquiry, no response was received. I would like to know the reason. I really like the design and functionality of Strava. This is helpful for my activities and also allows me to explore new routes and destinations. And you can also make new friends who share the same interest in sports. However, when using the Strava application, I found that the official or the system sent me an email, which made me feel very frustrated. I don't know what I should do next because the email informed me that my account might be suspended. But I hope I can cooperate with the staff of the official organization. If they need any proof from me, I will provide it without any problem. So please inform me of the relevant issues to prevent any problems with my account.

I'm a software engineer interested in developing applications using the Strava API. I've reviewed the API terms and I understand that developing features already in Strava is not allowed. If I were to invest time in developing an application and some of those features were later incorporated into Strava, would Strava consider this an API terms violation?  Have other developers experienced anything like this?Thank you

So with app devs getting caught in the Strava vs Garmin saga, can you at least swiftly add the device_name parameter to the /athlete/activities list?This way we won’t need to make additional API calls to the /activities endpoint just to check every single activity’s device…<sigh> 

Hello,I try to identify what is the “external provider” of activities.We have a field called external_id, but it can contain a “.tcx” file name.I can identify the Garmin activities because the external_id starts with : “garmin_ping_xxx”But for other providers like Polar or Fitbit we only have a TCX filename.How to get the real external provider name ? I'm using Python to return the "explore segments" query and would like to know how the top-10 segments are chosen.For example, in the Developers Playground it says that the GET explore segments, "returns the top 10 segments matching a specified query". How is "top-10" defined? Is it using the most popular segments in the geography boundary to search or some other designation?How can I view all and not just the top-10 segments?Also am I able to search for a segment using the detail that gets returned in the query instead i.e., distance, avg. grade, elevation gain, etc.? The query is very limited when just being able to search based on "the latitude and longitude for two points describing a rectangular boundary" and the "activity type" especially when I'm searching for a run segment so the climbing category is not relevant.Thanks!

I'm currently working on integrating my climbing app with Strava, and I've hit a bit of a roadblock. When I manually create an activity on Strava through the browser, I have the option to enter the elevation. However, when I try to do the same thing programmatically using the createActivity API, I can't seem to find an option to specify the elevation.This is crucial for my climbing app's functionality, and without it, integrating with Strava is kind of pointless. Can anyone shed some light on what I might be missing here? Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Anyone else trying to join the Dev Summit livestream but not allowed? I’m using the gmail email they sent the invite to. Also, emailing developersummit@strava.com if there are issues like it says bounces back because the email doesn’t exist.

How is this STILL not a feature in 2025. JFC of all the features y’all keep developing this would move the needle SO FAR for your power users. Literally every bike shop, club, cycling community in the world would use this feature. How many times do we have to ask for this.

Currently, my personal Strava account is tied to the Developer API Application that I'm using for a running app I helped develop. I want to transfer this to a new developer taking over for me. How can I do this? I just emailed support.

I submitted a request for activation of more athletes and it was approved (increased number of allowed athletes to 999). And now I still get:  

I did a park run this morning.It should be my 2nd fastest 5k.The distance registered as 4.95km to start with, and then the "correct distance" option only increased it by 1 metre.I know it will seem silly to some, but this is my best run in months and I'm frustrated it has not registered as 5km, and feel there should be a way around this.I get that strava want to avoid people cheating, but this was a park run. 90 other people recorded it at the same time as me. Is there no way AI could identify it as a park run, and I could be allowed to adjust distance to 5km?I don't think I'm the only one to be frustrated in similar situations.
