Hi Strava team,We develop URUNN, a running/fitness coaching app in the Training category that integrates with the Strava API on our athletes' behalf. We've now hit the Standard Tier ceiling of 999 connected athletes. we're at 999 / 999, so new users can no longer connect their Strava accounts. We'd like to request an upgrade to support our growing user base.Application detailsApp name: URUNN Client ID: 156678 Developer Tier: Standard Category: Training Athletes allowed to connect: 999 Athletes currently connected: 999 (at capacity)Current rate limitsOverall: 600 requests / 15 min, 6,000 / day Read: 300 requests / 15 min, 3,000 / dayWhat we're requestingAn increase to the number of athletes allowed to connect (our primary blocker), we're requesting a limit of 20,000–50,000 athletes to accommodate current demand and near-term growth. A corresponding increase to our overall and read rate limits to keep sync reliable at that athlete count. Our daily usage already peaks around 3,200 requests
Hello Strava Developer Team,Our application has reached its current athlete capacity (999/999), and new users are now receiving:"Error 403: Limit of connected athletes exceeded."Client ID: 116925App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yabcompany.statsva&hl=pt_BRWe would like to request an increase in athlete capacity. Our application is actively used by athletes. Please let us know if you need any additional information.Thank you.

Please add a way to edit the power value shown in the generated virtual screenshot for Concept2 BikeErg activities. If activity power data is corrected, the virtual screenshot should update too, or let athletes choose which metrics appear. It shows meters/500 which is great for rowing but bike is mainly focused on watts(power)
Can I contact Strava's support hub here, so I can expedite the refund process? I saw that Google Playstore makes the process longer, and I should ask for better response here in the Community Hub. Hoping someone can help me with this problem, and resolve this as soon as possible. I needed the refund for electric bill for our month's payment.
Hi, was wondering if having a map layer for active forest fires and also one for forest fire smoke. These would be extremely valid for any athlete about to go out into the country to do a run or ride with the amount of forest fires we get now. Probably should be on the free user layout, as making it a paid option might include some difficult optics.
Hello,Since recently, my Strava MCP integration has stopped working. All API calls now return a 403 Forbidden error and the application appears to be inactive.Has anyone else run into this issue, or is there a way to have the application reactivated? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!
Hi,Since yesterday, the “All Media” gallery has disappeared from my Strava profile. My photos are still attached to all activities. The photos are visible inside each activity. Other users also cannot see the media gallery on my profile. In the iOS app, the gallery briefly appears while refreshing and then immediately disappears. I have reinstalled the app and even removed the video I uploaded before the issue started, but nothing changed.Does anyone have the problem before or does anyone know how to rebuild the media gallery for my profile?I hope someone can help me :(Love,Lena
I think Strava needs to go back to the old view of active challenges. You used to be able to see all joined challenges in list format. The challenges were ordered by expiration and it showed your progress. This view was much more user friendly and it helped to prioritize challenges/activities before the expiration date
The route builder has started to block streets and trails. They have to be marked as “for biking” in open street map. ohterwise it is impossible to plan a route through those. There are many of those routes in my area. I do not want to edit every one of those just so the strava route builder will work again. The route builder should once again allow routes which are not expilitly marked as “for biking” in OSM.
Hi.Our app is currently in Extended Access Tier and we have an active subscription, but I’ve seen the FAQ page which for Extended Access Tier says “Subscription: N/A”. Does that mean that we can cancel our subscription and everything will still work?
Before submitting our app I want to confirm our use case is acceptable. My App is a private, invite-only fitness challenge for a closed group of friends (~20-30 people). Members connect Strava (~80%) so their own running/cycling/swimming activities are imported, and the app shows a shared group ranking. The rest adds data on their own. This means one member's activity data (distance, elevation, title, plus a "View on Strava" link) is visible to the other members of their private group. To respect athlete privacy, every member gives explicit, informed in-app consent before connecting Strava, they actively agree that their activities may be displayed to the other members of their group. The app is not public, data is never shared outside the group or with any third party, is never used for AI/ML, and is stored on a server in Germany. Members can disconnect at any time, which deletes their tokens and imported activities. My question: is this consented, closed-group display of member activi
Hi all,I'm developing a fitness application that uses the Strava API to import activity data (distance, time, pace) for users who authorize the connection. Before continuing development, I want to make sure I correctly understand the scope of the current API Agreement regarding data visibility between different users. As I understand the agreement, a user's Strava data can only be displayed to that same user, and may not be shown or disclosed to any other user of a connected app, even when those users are linked or connected to each other within the app.I'd appreciate input from the community (or from Strava staff, if anyone from the API team monitors this board) on the following:Does this restriction also apply when the user themselves voluntarily and actively chooses to share one specific metric (e.g. a time or distance) with another user of the app, as opposed to the app automatically or passively displaying their Strava data to others? Is there a distinction between showing full acti
Sometimes I hit Finish instead of Pause during a run, then start a new recording right after to keep going. The result is one workout split into two separate activities. My last half-marathon, for example, ended up logged as 18.9 km + 2.1 km instead of a single 21 km run. Today the only fix is a third-party tool, which means exporting both files, merging them, deleting the originals, and re-uploading, and I lose all kudos and comments in the process.SuggestionWhen a new activity starts shortly after a previous one ends (say within ~2 minutes), for the same sport and roughly the same location, Strava could offer to combine them into a single activity, using the same stitching behavior that already works for pause/resume. Ideally a prompt on the second activity: "This looks like a continuation of your previous activity, combine them?", plus a manual "Merge with previous" option in the activity menu for cases outside the automatic window. Why it mattersIt fixes distorted stats (two activit
Hello,I'm the developer of En Piste, a progressive web app for running training (5k to marathon preparation).- App URL: https://enpiste.net- Privacy policy: https://enpiste.net/privacy- Legal notice: https://enpiste.net/legal- Strava usage: activity:read scope only — we import running activities to pre-fill session validation. No data is shared with third parties. We are currently limited to 10 athletes and would like to request extended (unlimited) access to support our growing user base.Thank you,Guillaume
I'm a Standard Tier developer who made API requests in earlier this year and should qualify for the 3-month free subscription code per the June 1 developer program update according to this source: https://communityhub.strava.com/insider-journal-9/an-update-to-our-developer-program-13428 However, I haven't received the email. How can I receive a code or confirm my eligibility?
You probably have received THE EMAIL. Little summary:Good news everyone: Strava just sent an official update and it looks like they were listening. Here's what's changing and what it means for those of us stuck on the athlete limit:The immediate fix: Standard Tier developers can now self-upgrade to 10 athletes directly from the API settings dashboard, no form, no queue, no waiting for a response from developers@strava.com, I have emailed them 10 times in the last 2 weeks, so they will be happy as well I think. Go do it now, I would. The new tier structure:Standard Tier: up to 10 athletes, self-managed, no formal review Extended Access Tier: higher rate limits, greater user capacity, prioritized developer support, access to Partner APIs, and no Strava subscription requiredGo to strava.com/settings/api to see what TIER you’re in.Key dates to have on your radar:June 1, 2026: changes are live. New tiers active, self-upgrade available now June 30, 2026: Standard Tier developers will need a St
Hi everyone,I’m building an app that creates advanced video overlays for cycling and running. We want to use the Strava API, but the GET /activities/{id}/streams endpoint strips out advanced hardware metrics we need for our overlays. While the basic streams (time, latlng, watts, etc.) are great, we are missing the granular data found in the original .FIT upload, specifically:Advanced Power: L/R balance, Pedal Smoothness, Torque Effectiveness Dynamics: Garmin Cycling Dynamics, Running Dynamics (GCT, Vertical Oscillation) Hardware: Electronic Shifting (Di2/SRAM gear ratios), Core temp, Muscle Oxygenation Raw GPS: Un-smoothed velocity and gradeMy questions:Is there an endpoint (even in beta) that allows a third-party app (with user consent) to download the original, raw .FIT file uploaded to Strava? If not, are there plans to expand the Streams API to include these advanced data arrays? Has anyone found a reliable programmatic workaround to retrieve this missing data while keeping Strava a
Hi all, I've been working on my app and have finally reached the testing phase where I need users.I currently have two users signed up, and I thought I'd be proactive by asking Strava if they could increase my API application's 10-user limit before I reached it. They replied that they can't increase the limit until I've actually reached 10 users. However, since that conversation, my developer API account has been locked, and I no longer have access. I've tried contacting support, but I only get responses from the AI assistant. Eventually it said it couldn't help and would escalate my case to a human, but it's now been three days and I still haven't heard anything. At this point I'm completely blocked because I can't continue developing or testing without access to my developer API.Has anyone experienced this before or know how I can get hold of someone at Strava who can resolve it?
I’m building some AI Agents and have been using the Strava MCP Server (https://mcp.strava.com/mcp). I have been using the common authorization endpoint (https://www.strava.com/oauth/authorize). I now need to use the correct MCP authorization endpoint (https://www.strava.com/oauth/mcp/authorize). But I’m getting errors when trying to authorize against it (using the same Client ID and Client Secret that works for the standard endpoint).Do I need to do something special to authorize against the MCP authorization endpoint?
When our application uses tokens to obtain user information:Get request https://www.strava.com/api/v3/athlete?access_token=xxxxreturn{ "message": "Forbidden", "errors": [ { "resource": "Application", "field": "Status", "code": "Inactive" } ]}The token is get from https://www.strava.com/oauth/tokenit's a valid tokenStravaID:23962please help us
Hi,I'm currently building an MVP and have a few questions before I continue.Right now, my app can only pull my own Strava data. My goal is to let thousands of users connect their own Strava accounts so the app can read each person's activity after they sign in and give consent through OAuth. Is this supported? If it is, could someone briefly explain how the upgrade process works from the Standard Tier to support more users? What does the review process look like? Also, what API limitations and pricing should I be aware of after that? Thanks!
The new upload supports strength training, and we can view muscle maps. But how do we get this data from the API? Is there an endpoint to get the sets / excercises?
