The removal of URLs/links – questions I expect Strava to answer

I'm sorry but the "solution" that was posted in the other thread about this issue is not a solution. A solution would be something that brings our activities, posts, comments, etc to the exact same state they were before you removed the URLs.You didn't even answer the big open questions we have regarding what happened. I would like Strava to urgently answer the following questions:(1) Are you filtering URLs merely in the user interface and in the API – or have you actually modified the content stored in your database?(2) If it is the latter case, how are we going to recover our data? What kind of backups do you have? Are you going to restore all the URLs and other removed content from the backups once this "ongoing situation" is over? Can we at least download an intact version of our data for our own use?(3) Why there was zero communication about what is going to happen beforehand? It's clear now that you removed the URLs on purpose. The removal wouldn't have been okay even if you gave

Has There Been Any Update on the Removal of Links/URLS for Clubs and Activities?

To my knowledge it has been at least 2 months since this problem was first identified, and it’s definitely still a problem. I want to know if anyone has gotten any updates concerning this, or if that vague statement from months ago is all that we have on this still very relevant issue. If nothing else, I want to bring this back into the limelight so that Strava knows this is a still an issue people very much care about. Thank you for your time!

Add Ability to link Gear components to

The "My gear" feature is very useful. Could you add the option to mark the type of ride for a given component?Often the same bike is used, for example, as a road and gravel bike, but with different wheels, and the mileage is counted for all components. If bike components had the ability to mark from which types of activities (regular ride, virtual ride, gravel ride, etc.) the mileage should be counted, it would allow for better tracking of equipment wear.It would also be good to remove the limit on components, for example, wheels. It would also be useful to have the option to bring components out of retirement, for example, when rotating chains, etc.

Heatmap when routing

I would like to have the heatmap baselayers from all sports when creating a route for example, mountainbiking. There are more potential tracks for mountainbiking available in other sports as well

refund request and account help

Dear Strava Support Team, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to follow up on my previous refund request, which I submitted on December 06,2024. Unfortunately, I have not yet received a response or any assistance regarding my issue. I would like to express my concern, as the subscription fee was deducted from my GCash account without prior notification. The charge was processed quickly, but I have not received the same prompt attention regarding my refund request. iPhone text size

Please will you adopt the iOS per app text size functionality in the Strava app?I moved to an iPhone from Android and can’t easily read the tiny text size on iPhone. On iPhone, when you go to the text size and select Strava Only, you can increase the size, but it does nothing. Here’s an iPhone 15 Pro Max next to a Pixel 6a. You can clearly see the the text size is much larger on the Android.

Nordic skiing on Apple Watch APp

On the Watch App, at least on Apple, Speed has the largest font size, followed by time. Distance and Heart Rate are nearly readable.I have hard time imagining anyone needing real time speed while doing XC skiing. Would it be possible to either have this field customizable, or skip the speed, and let Heart Rate and Distance have the largest fonts?

More filters for activity search in Strava desktop

Hi,It seems other folks have asked for more filters years ago. It would be cool if we can search activities by location. Since these requests were not taken care of for years, I would make a simpler suggestion. On the phone APP we can search activities with filters like type, distance, time, dates etc., and every activity showed up came with a track thumbnail. Is it possible to sync these features to the desktop brower app?Thanks.

duplicate activities & year end review

So I use 2 devices for cycling. My Garmin Enduro 2 watch (backup) & my Wahoo bike computer (priority).When I look at my "activities" I see both are reported.A) are both workouts calculated in my "year end review numbers" - so inflating all my distance, elevation, total time numbers? Or does the system some how account for duplicates automatically & only tally one (or average both & tally)?B) some duplicate activities show as "a Group Activity" and yet some are not. Why & how does this affect A?C) if these duplicate activities are inflating my year end numbers, how do I fix it? Do I have to manually delete hundreds of Garmin cycling duplicates activities?

The year in sport summary is great but received 6 days ago, there are still opportunities for me to add to the data so it is currently not a true reflection of 2024. Why cannot it be done in January to ensure all data is captured?

Changes to Strava Group Challenges

Hello Community Members,  We want to update you on an upcoming change to the Group Challenge feature. Currently, Group Challenges can be created by subscribers and athletes with a free trial subscription. All other athletes will get three free challenges to create or join a group challenge. Once a free challenge has been used, it can not be reclaimed by deleting or leaving the challenge. You can find out more about Group Challenges here.  What you need to know: Starting in August 2024, only Strava subscribers or users with a free trial will be able to create and/or join a group challenge.What if a challenge was created before the change? Existing challenges and challenges created before the update will remain active until their finish date. Route filter slider needs to go a lot higher

Reposting this because the first time it got an invalid response.The website lets us filter saved routes by distances up to 50 miles. I rarely ride less than 50 miles. I have many routes of 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100+ miles. The mileage filter needs to not stop at 50. I’d say go up to 150.The point is to filter routes of any distance. For example 40-60, 60-70, 70-90, 90-100, 100-120, etc. If I set the slider to “any” it shows me all of the dozens of routes I have over 50. Please just make he slider go up to 150 or so.The cell phone app has no saved route filter at all. Add a distance filter for saved routes on the phone app. And of course make it go up to at least 150 miles in increments of 10 miles.

past walks

Hello. I used to be able to look at my last walks on my map while I was currently walking. I'm trying to find a loop in the woods. I started at one and one day and backtracked out. The next day I started from the opposite side so I could see where I left off yesterday to try to complete the loop, but it's no longer showing on my screen. I used to be able to see all my walks, with my current walk being tracked. Did I somehow remove that feature?

[KNOWN ISSUE] Issues with Apple Watch and Strava closing mid-workout

Hi all, Reported this to Strava a couple of weeks ago and had no response… so thought I’d try here. Recently, when I record a Weight Training or Workout activity using my Apple Watch, during the session Strava will close randomly and sometimes restart the timer back to the beginning or at least knock a few minutes off. However, when I save the session, most of the time it records the full session (other times knocks a few minutes off). Anyone else experiencing this issue?  UPDATE FROM STRAVA:Hello and thanks to everyone who has posted about this.We’re in the process of investigating and I will post an update here when I have one.In the meantime, I recommend using the workaround suggested by ​@Jana_S - use the native Workout app on AW and sync the activity to Strava once finished. Sincere apologies for the issue and we ask for your patience while we look into this.

how to escalate very poor and unprofessional support response

I am extremely annoyed and disappointed by how support teams is handling  my request. I purchased a subscription for a family plan to share with my cycling buddies.something went wrong and the person in charge of the ticket is just going in a loop to avoid fixing the problem.I paid for the subscription and my friends cannot join most likely for a glitch in the system.but the guy in charge of the ticket (his name is Hans) is replying every 2-3 days and doing nothing.he asked that each member of the plan should open a separate ticket and still not doing anything. Just buying time before going on vacation I guess.Is it possibile to escalate my case ?time is clicking for a paid subscription that my friends cannot use and I really feel hopeless that this will be fixed.

How do I switch email accounts without getting locked, so that I can reassign the email I want to keep to the actual account I use

I have been unsuccessful with the chat bots, the support tickets that don’t answer questions.   I have duplicate accounts linked to the same email, meaning the first part before the @ are the same.  one of the emails ends in gmail.com and the other is the googlemail.com which in Strava appear as different emails, but link to the same account.  I want to keep the email ending in gmail.com and transfer it to the account I actually use.  I then want to delete the other account and still be able to use my email for strava.  The issue and reasonable solution is to go in and change the email in the account I want to delete, but every attempt of doing that locks the account up.  Since strava doesn’t have any human CS agents I’m afraid if I do the delete account it could delete both accounts, or not allow me to use the email any further.  beyond frustrated with Strava.  so wish there was an alternative out there.
