Hi everyone. My wife is a big time runner - Boston Qualified this year! She’s a stud. I’m not much of a runner at all but thought I could show her some love this Valentine’s by running a Stava course that says “I (heart shape) Alyssa” - hopefully she doesn’t see this post. Anyone have any suggestions how to create that in the North Orange County, CA area? I’m not great with developing the map. I’m trying to keep it in the 10K range so I don’t completely kill myself. I appreciate the help anyone can provide. Thank you.

Hi
Not to discourage you, but 10k isn't much for this long message. When I tried to plan some “Strava art” the other day, any slightly advanced shape would mean quite some distance, especially if done in the streets.
Having said that… if there's some open area nearby, field or something, I’d suggest - use that. First, draw the message on a map to have an idea how to fit the letters in the area (and remember, it has to be one continuous line). Once you're happy with how it looks, create a “route” in Strava (you'll need to use the manual mode because otherwise, the route planner automatically sticks to existing paths and you don't want that). And then go for the run. I wouldn't “follow the route” using Strava, rather just start the run tracking and then, with the route open on the maps tab of Strava, make sure that my “blue dot” matches with the route on the map. You also might want to put some physical objects (traffic cones… anything) in selected spots to use for better orientation.
It will likely take several attempts to perfect the shape, so you might wanna start asap 😃
