Maybe I haven’t found the feature but I can’t see how to lock the screen on Apple Watch when starting a workout on watch.
That doesn’t present a problem in summer, but it does in winter when layers of clothes around the wrists might accidentally stop or pause the activity.

Hi @nina_fitness66, when you press the button below the Digital Crown, there's an option to turn on the water lock - the icon looks like a waterdrop (you might need to scroll a bit down, depending how you’ve organised that menu on your watch). To disable the lock, press and hold the crown for several seconds (there's an audible “blip” when the screen gets unlocked).

Thanks. I know about the water lock, however I was hoping for an automatic activation when starting Strava via the watch. And at the same time to be able to select or deselect that option in the Strava  Apple Watch app settings. Something to consider. Other apps offer that. Cheers, Nina.

That makes sense… perhaps submit a feature request..? Though it will likely not get implemented anytime soon…

Another option could be creating a custom shortcut and an automation in iOS, but again, Strava doesn't seem to allow any of this (I tried but Strava doesn't seem to be open to this - no options for it in the Shortcut apps). There’s a pending feature request to implement that:

So the only instantly usable workaround would be to use the default Apple workout app on the Watch (and sync the activity to the Strava app afterwards); then you can 1) create a shortcut to enable the water lock on the Watch, and 2) create an automation to use that shortcut when a workout is started. Not ideal though...
