I am an avid runner who is also a pilot and Garmin watches that target different verticals like aviation, boating, etc also have all the running, cycling features as well. Whenever I go on a flight it automatically uploads to Strava just like any activity. It's actually pretty cool to see my flight track on there, and the community thinks pretty cool too, but it messes up all statistics and my year-end report because it thinks these are fitness activities. It categorizes these as a Workout which is probably fallback. Does anyone know if possible to mark an activity in a way so it doesn't include the data in fitness statistics.
Hello @jeffbonasso
Thanks for posting about this. There isn’t a way to keep uploads from contributing to your fitness data on Strava, as we do not have an aviation category, or any category for fully motorized activities. More information on uploading motorized activities can be found here.
Thanks again for your contribution.
Got it. I have put a feature request in as Garmin watches in particular when connected to Strava upload all activities with a gps track such as an aviation one. With as many activity types as Strava has, it seems like adding one more like Other or Mental Fitness would be a great addition to the platform because activities like flying are great for mental fitness similar to something like meditation or yoga.
