Estimated Avg Power & Energy Output Decrease After Editing Activity

I've noticed on my bike rides that if I go to "Edit Activity" after a ride to change something, such as changing bikes to the correct bike rode during the ride, or changing the map style from 3D to 2D, correcting elevation etc. - then, the Est Avg Power(W) and Energy Output(kJ) decrease.

Is this a known issue?

I will try and take screenshots on the next ride.  Changing the map from 3D to 2D view should not have an outcome on the Est Avg Power/Energy Output, is that correct?

That's not an issue, it's expected that estimation changes if you use another bike or other elevation maps. Estimated power is based on gradients, bike type and bike weight besides your weight and speeds.
