I keep starting a trace, and then missing the first few KM of my runs without knowing about it till Strava DOESN'T give the first audio update at 500m.

When I start the trace I get a "GPS Acquired" confirmation, as if everything is okay, but in reality the app never gets a GPS location from my iPhone13 that it is happy with.

Strava NEEDS to make this clear to the user with a banner at the top saying "GPS data being dropped", or some such status.

Further, if you have audio notifications turned on and it doesn't establish this is the state before you put the phone on standby and put it in your pocket, it needs to make an audio warning telling you every 10s.

The user feedback is shocking, and it is NOT the fault of the poor GPS on the phone.

If it did you could reboot the phone, etc, before you got anywhere too far in your run.

Hey @sjnicholls,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on alerting users when the GPS drops. This sounds like the perfect idea to share to our Ideas Board so that others can also vote on your idea. We kindly ask that you review our Idea Guidelines, particularly the “What makes a good idea” section, to ensure that your ideas are clear, concise, and can reach as many others as possible.
