Hello,

I recently received an email confirming that my application was approved for the Strava Developer Program with the following limits:

  • Overall Rate Limit: 600 requests every 15 minutes (6,000 per day)

  • Read Rate Limit: 300 requests every 15 minutes (3,000 per day)

  • Athlete Capacity: 999

However, in my API settings dashboard, my application still appears to be limited to only 1 authorized athlete, and a second Strava account cannot authorize the app through OAuth.

It seems like the application might still be in Single Player Mode despite the approval email.

What can i do so ?

Hi @levelo25 and @Thom, please reach out to developers@strava.com for support and include:

  • The email you submitted your app for review through
  • Your client ID

Rate limit increases should be instant; if you have created multiple applications, it’s possible our notice applied to a different client ID.

I would recommend e-mailing developers@strava.com, there is not much we will be able to do here to help you as most of us are just community members and developers responding.

Hello Thomas,

Thanks for sharing your situation.

After several rejections, my application was finally approved as well and I received the confirmation email from Strava with the same limits you mentioned:

  • Overall Rate Limit: 600 requests every 15 minutes (6,000 per day)

  • Read Rate Limit: 300 requests every 15 minutes (3,000 per day)

  • Athlete Capacity: 999

However, I’m experiencing exactly the same issue as you. In the developer dashboard my application still shows that only 1 athlete can connect, and other Strava accounts cannot authorize the app through OAuth.

So it seems that, despite the approval email, the dashboard is still behaving as if the app were in Single Player Mode.

Let’s stay in touch and see if we can figure out what’s going on or if the limits update after some time.

Best regards,
Andres

Hi, @Emily_A

Thank you very much for the help and for pointing me in the right direction.

I contacted the Strava developer support team and sent them several emails including my client ID and the email address used for the review submission. After clarifying the situation through a few exchanges, the issue was finally resolved.

My application limits were updated and the athlete capacity is now correctly authorized, so the problem has been fixed.

Thanks again for your assistance!

Best regards,
Andres
