Hello Strava Team,

I would like to request an athlete capacity increase to 30 authorized athletes for [Training] (Client ID: [165886).

I previously submitted a review request but have not received a response. I no longer have the exact submission date or a reference number, so I am posting here to request guidance on the appropriate next steps.

What the application does

This is a small, personally maintained, non-commercial website for approximately 30 members of a cycling group.

Its purpose is to summarize participants’ weekly virtual cycling activity. Each member creates a website account and individually connects their own Strava account through OAuth.

The application calculates weekly totals using the moving_time of eligible VirtualRide activities, with weeks defined in the Asia/Shanghai time zone.

How we use the Strava API

  • Scopes requested: read, activity:read. The application does not request activity-write access.
  • Activity retrieval: Read the authorized athlete’s activity list and retrieve individual activity details when needed.
  • Synchronization: Use Webhook notifications to trigger updates, with periodic reconciliation as a fallback.
  • Authorization: Use OAuth authorization-code exchange and refresh tokens. Members do not provide their Strava passwords.
  • Storage: Store activity identifiers, titles, timestamps, duration, distance and elevation, together with account-linking information. OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest.
  • Filtering: Only eligible virtual cycling activities are retained; activities marked private or “only me” are excluded.
  • Disconnection: Disconnecting removes the linked Strava credentials and imported activity records while preserving the independent website account.

Weekly summary and compliance clarification

The current prototype displays members’ weekly riding durations, ordered by total duration. This is intended only as a participation summary. There are no prizes, payments, betting, or decisions based on a member’s position.

I understand that displaying one athlete’s Strava-derived data to other members may be restricted, even for a small non-commercial group. I do not assume that member consent or an athlete capacity increase alone permits this functionality.

Please confirm whether this display is acceptable. If it is not, I am willing to remove or revise the shared summary and ordering to comply with your requirements.

Request

Could you please review the application for a capacity of 30 authorized athletes and advise whether any additional information or changes are required?

I can provide screenshots, an authorization-flow demonstration, and further technical details privately through an appropriate support channel upon request.

Thank you for your time and guidance.
