Activity 17160221247 is of Alpine Skiing type. It shows 10,923 ft of “Vertical” in the mobile app, but only 25 ft of “Elevation” on the web site. The getActivityById() endpoint is returning 7.0 under “total_elevation_gain” (only parameter in DetailedActivity we can use to derive elevation or vertical). This is resulting in wrong data displayed in our application and we cannot explain the difference between the mobile view and web view on Strava. Can you please look into it and tell us how to fix the problem? The activity was recorded on Slopes and uploaded to Strava.

You can create these two feature requests on https://support.strava.com/hc/requests/new, there you can differentiate between website and API:
+27That’s not really a bug, elevation is the cumulated ascent (that does not count anymore in alpine skiing) whereas vertical is the descent. The API and the website simply lack returning the vertical stat. And I should note the API uses the metric system (7 m).

But the original point was that the API is lacking the vertical metric for AlpineSkiing - which clearly is stored somewhere since it appears in the mobile app. Can Strava update the API to return that value and, in the process, fix the web site to match the functionality on the mobile app?
