Excluded Effort

I recently did a 100km charity ride. A segment was created for the whole ride. My effort for this segment has been wrongfully excluded from my segments.  I am not sure why it has been excluded. My ride data shows that my effort is correct. I has trained to be able to do this ride as fast as I can and also without stopping. My effort is not shown on the leaderboard as it has wrongfully being excluded. This is frustrating

Hi @Kofi_80, this article describes what to do in such a situation:

If its a single segment rather than the complete activity that is flagged you still could lookup the activity on the Strava website, sometimes you have options there to resolve the issue that aren’t visible in the app. But if there aren’t unfortunately you probably have to go through the longwinding support process. You could still try some workarounds on the website, like the “Correct Elevation” or “Correct Distance” tools if available, sometimes this it enough to persuade the artifical “intelligence” that everything is legit.

The trouble with excessively long segments is that with one wrong move the system could call it a mismatch, as explained here:

https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216918227-Optimizing-Segment-Creation-How-to-Create-Good-Segments#long

So if you combed through your activity data you might find a little turn or fork in the road you missed thus leading to the mismatch. If you know the name of the segment, you can use the partial matching tool to identify where and maybe why it was excluded:

https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216918247-Using-the-Potential-Segment-Match-Analysis-Tool

But it’s also possible your segment is just hidden from the activity. Less popular and duplicate segments often get hidden but can be shown:

https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216918187-Segment-Matching-Issues#missing

If you find that you did miss that left in Albuquerque, Strava support might be able to iron it out but they are pretty slow to respond these days.

There were multiple segments that were excluded. I have checked other riders who did the same ride and these segments have been excluded from their rides too.

I will try on the website to see if I can get it to work.

Thanks
