The Problem: Currently, when you use the "Add Others" feature to tag a friend who didn't record a run, Strava clones the activity onto their profile. However, if you accidentally tag the wrong person, or if you tag a friend who did record their own run (resulting in a duplicate activity that distorts their weekly stats), the sender is completely locked out of fixing the mistake.
Once the friend accepts the invite, the sender only sees a "Leave Group" option. The sender cannot revoke the tag, delete the clone, or undo the action. The burden is entirely placed on the recipient to manually navigate to their profile, identify the duplicate, and delete it. This creates clunky communication outside the app and messes up user data.
The Proposed Solution: Strava should implement a basic "Undo" or "Revoke Tag" mechanism for the person who created the activity.
-
How it should work: Even after a friend accepts an "Add Others" invitation, the original creator of the activity should have a "Remove Friend" or "Revoke Activity Clone" button under the Manage Group settings.
-
The Impact: Clicking this would automatically pull the cloned activity off the friend's profile and instantly restore their accurate weekly mileage and stats without requiring them to do manual cleanup.
As users, if we have the power to mistakenly push data onto a friend's profile, we should have the power to pull it back if it was done in error. Please upvote if you've run into this issue and want to see an "Undo" option added to group activities!
