Hi Strava Team,
I am a dedicated user from Kyiv and an active member of the athletic community. I am writing to strongly request the addition of the Ukrainian language to both the Strava mobile app and the web platform, and to raise a critical issue regarding your current language fallback settings.
Currently, when my device's localization is set to Ukrainian, Strava automatically defaults to the Russian-language interface. I want to explicitly state that I, along with a vast majority of Ukrainian users, do not want to use the Russian interface. Having it forced upon us as an automatic fallback is highly uncomfortable and unacceptable.
If full Ukrainian localization takes time to develop, I strongly urge you to add an explicit language selection option within the app settings. This would allow users to manually choose their preferred interface language (such as English) rather than being automatically forced into Russian
Ultimately, having Strava fully available in Ukrainian is incredibly important to millions of athletes. Language is a vital part of our national identity, and many of us have completely transitioned to using our native language across all our devices, services, and applications.
Adding Ukrainian localization, and fixing this fallback issue in the meantime, would not only make tracking our activities much more comfortable, but it would also be a massive gesture of respect and support for your huge user base in Ukraine.
