Follow-up: Developer Program review for “Runner Wars” (Client ID 134374) — no response yet

Hi Strava team and community,

I’m following up on the Developer Program form I submitted for my app Runner Wars (Client ID 134374) on October 7, 2026. I asked for a higher athlete capacity (999 athletes). I haven’t heard back yet, and I’d be grateful if someone could check where the review stands or tell me if anything is missing.

Since I submitted

  • My Strava subscription is now active, so the app meets the 2026 Developer Program requirement.
  • The app has moved to its permanent domain, https://www.runnerwars.com. The callback domain has been updated to match.
  • The webhook push subscription is set up, so new runs are imported as they are uploaded, with no polling.

About the app
Runner Wars is a free, mobile-first running game for runners in Đà Nẵng, Vietnam, started by the Ngũ Hành Sơn Runners club. The city is split into ~200 m hexagonal sectors. Runners capture sectors by running through them, earn XP, and compete individually and as clubs. Many of our runners train with COROS, Garmin, Suunto or Apple Watch and can only join through Strava.

Why the review matters to us

  • The game is live and has 30+ registered runners(and more are asking to signup with Strava), with clubs and city-wide events already running.
  • The app is limited to a single connected athlete, so watch users can’t take part. They have to export and upload GPX/FIT files by hand.
  • Đà Nẵng has 20+ active running clubs with 600–900 runners, and they want to play together. A capacity of 999 covers them, and we’ll apply again before we reach it.

How we handle Strava data

  • We only import the athlete’s own runs from after they connect, within the last 7 days, at 2 read requests per import. Requests are retried with back-off, and we pause on HTTP 429.
  • Tokens are encrypted at rest. Deauthorization and activity:delete events delete the stored data immediately.
  • We use the official “Connect with Strava” button, the “Powered by Strava” logo and “View on Strava” links, following the brand guidelines.
  • We don’t sell or share Strava data, and we don’t use it for advertising or AI/ML training.

I can send screenshots, a test account or any other information the reviewers need. Could you confirm that the submission was received and give a rough idea of the timeline?

Thank you for your time and for supporting community-built apps!
