Heart Rate Zones Calculation

Well, there doesn’t seem to be a more appropriate place to ask this, so I’m asking here.

Heart rate zones are calculated from max heart rate. That much is spelled out. But how exactly? What is the exact formula? The general standard as far as I can tell is a percentage of max heart rate, 50-60% for zone 1, 60-70% zone 2, 70-80% zone 3, etc. But this does not line up with the values I am seeing in the Android app. So, what is the formula? (Oh, and, I’ve been unable to find it in the help documentation.)
