I’m finding myself often using a lot of time planning to Create new interesting routes in order to keeping my runs and rides interesting, especially when planning activities more on the adventurous side.

I thought it’d be a useful Heatmap view it one could see the global heatmap information but with your personal heatmap subtracted from it. This way you’d be shown, per sport, where are the routes other community members are typically using, that you have/are not. This way it’d be a quicker glance to see “Hey, here’s a trail or path others prefer, but would be new for me.”

Maybe this could be a tickbox option under the Global Heatmap: “Subtract Personal heatmap”. Of course you can try to visualize this somehow already today by fiddling with the colors of the two heatmaps, but it easily gets messy and unintuitive.

Hope this post is useful and in the right place to begin with… (Was not exactly well implied where new Strava feature ideas should be posted.) :)
