I noticed my Strava API application currently shows “Number of athletes allowed to connect: 1”.
I would like to request an increase in this limit so multiple athletes can connect to my app for testing and production purposes.

Please let me know the steps or requirements to get this limit increased.

It's in the first section of the getting started guide

https://developers.strava.com/docs/getting-started/

If you’re looking to connect our athlete community to your app, and aren’t just developing for yourself, with your own data, please submit your app for review!

Hello,

I’m unsure if this is an automated or human reply.

I can call the Strava API with my app credentials and have submitted the app for review as requested. However, my main question remains unanswered: in my application dashboard, the “Number of athletes allowed to connect” shows only 1.

Could you please clarify:

  • What is the default athlete connection limit for third-party apps?

  • How long does it typically take to get this limit increased after submitting the review?

Thank you.

If your app was already reviewed you have to write to developers@strava.com, include your client id and ask that they increase your connection limit. They strive to answer these requests  in one week but the reality can differ between a few days and some months. The default limit is 1.

You should submit your app for review with Strava. After successful review they will increase the allowed athlete count to 999.

I have plans to submit my app for review. Do I really need to have a company in order to submit my app? In submission form I saw that as a required field.

No. Just enter the company name as “Self” or something. Or call it the same thing as your app.
