Hi Strava team,
I’d like to report an access issue that appears to affect users in Iran.
Recently, many users in Iran have been unable to access Strava without using a VPN.
Inside the app, login fails with the message:
“Login failed. The Strava server encountered an error. Please contact support if the problem persists.”
However, testing outside the app suggests the issue may not be application-related.
Opening strava.com directly without a VPN returns:
“403 ERROR – The Amazon CloudFront distribution is configured to block access from your country.”
This suggests that access may currently be restricted at the CloudFront/CDN layer.
As a result, users cannot sign in, sync activities, or use the service normally, and many may assume the app itself is broken.
I understand this may be unintentional or infrastructure-related, so I wanted to bring visibility to it.
If possible, could the team please investigate the CloudFront configuration and confirm whether this restriction is expected? If this is unintended, I’d really appreciate it if access for affected users could be restored.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
