Hi everyone,

My current Athlete Limit is capped at 10. I have submitted a request to increase this limit to 1,000 athletes three times now, but each time I receive the same automated rejection email (pasted below).

I would appreciate any advice on how to proceed. Has anyone else experienced this and successfully resolved it? Since they don't provide individual feedback, I'm unsure what exactly I need to change.

Here is the standard email I received:

Thank you for submitting your application for increased rate limits and/or athlete capacity. After careful review, we are unable to approve your request at this time.

Common reasons submissions are not approved include:

  • The app does not offer a complementary experience for Strava users
  • API usage is not optimized for the requests being made
  • There are security or privacy concerns with the app
  • The app is not compliant with our API Agreement or API Policy

Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we're unable to provide individual feedback. We encourage you to review our API Agreement and API Policy before resubmitting. Please note that increased access is not guaranteed and resubmissions are not guaranteed to receive a different outcome.

Best,

Strava API Team

We could give our opinion, but for that we have to know details about your app.

Hi @JoaoClemente

If you're planning to add Garmin or Whoop later, the same problem shows up in three different shapes. I've been building something that normalises it — DM me if that's where you're heading. a@molinaa.com

There are two points that comes to mind:

-The run coaching competes with Strava’s Runna integration

-The app name implies the usage of AI and Strava is completely against that for applications using their API
