We would like to clarify the permitted use of an authenticated athlete’s own Strava Routes under the June 2026 API Policy.
Our application allows an authenticated athlete to select one of their own Strava Routes when planning a future private group ride.
The route is always clearly identified as originating from Strava, including Strava attribution and a direct “View on Strava” link to the original route.
Could you please clarify:
- Can the selected route remain associated with that planned ride for more than seven days, or must all Strava-derived route data be removed after the seven-day cache period?
- Can other authenticated members of the same private group see the selected route as part of the planned ride, or must Strava-derived route data remain visible only to the athlete who connected Strava?
We want to adapt our integration before resubmitting for Standard Tier review.
