Hi Strava Developer Team,
I’m a student building a small personal running-coaching project called Endurio as a hobby project.
The project is primarily for my own use. I’m using the Strava API to experiment with features such as analyzing my running activities, understanding training patterns, and building personalized coaching insights from my own Strava data.
I understand the changes to the Strava Developer Program and that Standard Tier API access now requires an active Strava subscription.
Since Endurio is currently a single-user, non-commercial student project with no significant user base or revenue, I wanted to ask whether there is any possibility of:
-
a temporary free extension for API access,
-
a student/personal-project exception, or
-
another option that would allow me to continue developing and testing the project using my own Strava data without requiring a paid subscription.
I’m not looking for increased athlete capacity or commercial access. I only need access for development and testing with my own account.
I completely understand if no exception is available under the current policy. I just wanted to check before I discontinue the Strava integration.
I’d be happy to provide more information about Endurio, how the API is being used, or screenshots of the project if required.
Thanks for your time and consideration.
Best,
Atul Kevat
Endurio
