Dear Strava Development team. I recently discovered that it’s now possible to download a route to my Apple Watch and use it to guide me. I tried it out on a known route in my neighborhood and it was very difficult to follow because the map is based on true north instead of up on the watch being the route direction. Also, the direction of the “beacon” that represents me on the map did not seem to be accurate. While clearly traveling on the route it sometimes pointed left, right and behind. Only occasionally did it point in the direction I was heading.
if I was in an unfamiliar location where I did not know north and it was dark out, the Strava route guidance would be useless.
